Municipal campsite with a fantastic view of the ramparts. The sanitary facilities are very clean and functional. There is a spacious double waste-disposal area. A magnificent place, with the ramparts circuit and beach nearby. I recommend it.
Neat and quiet site that fully meets the expectations of a two-star campsite. Many clean showers, toilets (without paper) and individual wash cubicles. Close to the town and colorful fishermen’s houses. Friendly reception. Many shaded pitches. Waste disposal easily accessible. Two people in a motorhome: €22. Super U, shops and market nearby.
Everything has been said. Friendly staff. Immaculate maintenance and sanitary facilities. Missing hedges between pitches, level surfaces and toilet paper to be rated three stars!!! But unbeatable price: €50.50 for three nights with electricity for two people and a motorhome and one dog.
I cannot give five stars solely because, with a van and no leveling blocks, it is difficult to find level ground. Otherwise, €16.50 for 70 m² or €17.50 for 90 m² is reasonable; immaculate sanitary facilities, pleasant staff, and the citadel right nearby.
Pleasant campsite, good-sized pitch. We were level and in the shade for part of the afternoon, unlike all pitches. Immaculate sanitary facilities. Close to the town center and ramparts, with a magnificent market on Sunday morning. The only drawback is the beach, which is not very pleasant at low tide. Minor downside: having to pay an extra €10 for a reservation made three days in advance.
Pleasant welcome, very well located for getting around by bicycle and on foot; beach and town center five minutes away. Clean, functional sanitary facilities. Pitch of adequate size and good electrical connection. The only negative point is zero privacy, with overlooking pitches, no bushes or hedges, and very few trees.
Excellent campsite, very clean sanitary facilities, warm welcome and a wide choice of pitches, though unfortunately some are under trees. Reasonable prices, on grass or gravel. In this season, highly recommended.
Very warm welcome. Campsite close to the town center and beach. Clean sanitary facilities.
Clean and very pleasant campsite, charming staff. Very fair price. Recommended. Also very close to shops. Excellent.
Very beautiful campsite within walking distance of the lovely town. Very friendly reception and very clean sanitary facilities. We had a level pitch on bark mulch; some of the other grassy pitches were quite sloped.
I recommend Camping des Remparts for the quality of its services and its welcome. Close to shops and the beach. Stabilized pitches with electricity. The sanitary facilities are a major advantage compared with the area outside the town, and the staff are attentive.
An ideal pitch, very close to the center of Château-d’Oléron, for walks along its ramparts, through its citadel, and especially to its lovely harbor with beautifully colored fishermen’s huts. Super U is just steps away. This campsite deserves at least one more star. Very clean sanitary facilities, welcoming staff and immaculate pitches. The road is somewhat busy, but bearable.
Three nights in March. Very pleasant, well-maintained campsite. Friendly welcome. Immaculate sanitary facilities. Slightly sloping ground, so bring leveling blocks. Two steps from the town center.
Friendly welcome, excellent location two steps from the town and Super U. Adequate sanitary facilities. The ground is indeed uneven and muddy. Two service points. Price €16 or €17 depending on the pitch, very fair for the facilities.
Very well located and clean. This campsite ticks all the boxes except one: you need leveling blocks almost everywhere. Otherwise, excellent sanitary facilities, excellent welcome, spacious campsite, close to the town center.
Very warm welcome from the reception staff. You choose your pitch. Immaculate sanitary facilities. Water points in various locations. Electricity for everyone. Close to shops, the beach and cycle paths. Same price as the motorhome area, which is deteriorating.
Good welcome, renovated sanitary facilities. The price varies according to pitch size, between €16 and €17. Add €3 for a trailer.
Camping des Remparts in Château-d’Oléron: warm welcome, clean and shaded campsite, ideally located between the beach, town center, harbor and cycle paths. Everything is accessible on foot, with a market every day as a bonus. And all this for only €16 per night in the off-season for two people with electricity… perfect for enjoying Oléron without breaking the bank!
What can I say? Pitches like a roller coaster, making it difficult to get onto the leveling blocks, plus an extra charge for motorcyclists with campers.
Regular visitors to this village and campsite, we always enjoy meeting the charming staff at Les Remparts again… Perfect for us!
Ideally located: the village is a five-minute walk away, and a small beach in a supervised body of water is right next door. Beware, swimming is prohibited at the ocean beach. The sanitary facilities are recent and cleaned regularly. We paid €20 for one night for one motorhome, two people and electricity. Beware: most pitches are sloped, so bring leveling blocks.
Sloping pitches. Different pitch sizes depending on availability. New and clean sanitary facilities. Town center and shops accessible on foot.
Great pitch between the beach and town center, shops and cycle path. Very clean and shaded campsite. Friendly welcome.
Very good welcome, with some pitches slightly sloped. Immaculate sanitary facilities and close to the town center. One pedestrian exit toward the town and one toward the beach. Reasonable price. I recommend it!
Professional welcome and very well-located campsite. Excellent sanitary facilities. For the restaurant, I recommend Manuia, with delicious Balinese cuisine.
A simple campsite close to all amenities: I love it!!
Very well-located campsite, close to everything. Friendly reception staff. Everything has been said in the previous comments. Just one drawback: for those placed along the road, traffic starts early and continues late. €19 for two people for one night in July and €20 in August. The Zorba burger-and-fries bar at the end of the campsite is very nice, as is the unmissable La Pêche aux Moules, run by Boris.
One night in a van (€30 with electricity). Clean campsite with everything needed for motorhomes, including waste disposal. Shower block closed, which is pleasant. But it was full in July, and seeing all those people and motorhomes horrified me a little... happy to leave and get some fresh air elsewhere.
New and clean sanitary facilities. Ideal for visiting the town and harbor and enjoying the restaurants; everything can be done on foot. Close to the beach. The girls at reception were friendly.
Two-star municipal campsite at the entrance to the town and harbor. New, very well-maintained sanitary facilities, beach nearby, and everything can be done on foot. Bring fairly tall leveling blocks because part of the site is quite sloped. Friendly team.
Perfect for visiting Château d'Oléron (though avoid the spots along the road).
Always pleasant, clean and quiet, with the seawater basin when the tide is out, the harbor with its colorful fishermen's huts, and the castle to visit. Magnificent.
We have been coming here for several years. Nothing to complain about. Clean and pleasant.
Perfect for visiting the town, with spacious pitches.
