Plaça Sant Domenec, 10, 17491, Peralada
Been here?
This free public motorhome area offers stays of up to 48 hours, with free grey- and black-water disposal and a paid water refill station costing €2/5 minutes. The freshwater point was recently reported broken, while other comments found the disposal facilities poorly designed or unusable. It is centrally located for visiting Peralada and is generally quiet, although normal cars often occupy the motorhome spaces. The area is lit and next to a busy general car park.

Basically a good place, although ordinary cars can also occupy the camper parking spaces. Fresh water does not work. Quiet.
I agree with the previous comment about the lack of respect from some people. Thank you to the municipality for this site; it is a lovely village to visit.
This area could be excellent if people showed respect! The spaces reserved for motorhomes are taken by cars, vans are parked horizontally, and to top it all off, a Spanish motorhome ran its engine for hours. No respect for others. What a shame! We needed to rest, but the night was ruined. Thanks to the municipality nonetheless.
Central, well-maintained, and free. Free black- and gray-water disposal. Water filling is paid, but the price is very reasonable. We slept here and everything was great. Many thanks.
Water filling is paid. We were able to empty the black water, but the water tap was broken. The location is ideal for visiting the town center. Few spaces, so it fills up quickly.
Spacious parking area for one night. We came for the water supply, but it was broken. Quite a lot of lighting in the parking area, which felt safe but made it less peaceful. There is a car park next door, creating traffic as cars come and go. Good for one night. Lots of police checks; in three hours, the police came by six times.
Basically a quiet and safe place to rest and spend the night. We liked that the local police made rounds at night for security. Practically no services, but it is free.
USELESS, poorly designed services: gray water overflows onto the platform. The black-water drain is too high and does not allow emptying; the black water overflows. The screen for paying to refill water cannot be seen. We are leaving without emptying the black water or refilling water.
Small rest area ideally located for visiting Peralada Castle, its casino, and its cava factory. Residence of Jane Manson.
Near the center, services are fine. Thank you to the municipality.
Great spot, very popular, quiet night. Spar shop, casino/golf, bar, and old town worth visiting.
Good camper parking area, but watch out for the branches of the large tree in the middle. It is busy, so there is little space. The old town is well worth visiting. The road beside the parking area is busy. The site is brightly lit. We slept well until the garbage truck arrived. Many thanks to the municipality for this site and the neat town.
Very well located for visiting the town. Plenty of spaces. Everything works. We spent a quiet night.
Great for visiting the town. Unfortunately, the water services did not work, and we happened to arrive on garbage collection day.
Convenient parking near the French border, excellent for resting and visiting the small village. The services looked to be in excellent condition and working, although we did not use them.
I loved the location, just steps from the historic center. It is a quiet, level, and safe area. Although the payment and water-filling system can be somewhat confusing, the stay is very pleasant because of Peralada's beauty. Ideal for visiting the village!
False information about the weekend market, confirmed by the tourist office. You can park.
Works for one night, next to a very busy road even very noisy at night, village has a nice bakery with delicious fresh bread.
Very good, but no water available; the reader is broken.
The town is worth visiting. The parking is good, but we needed water and could not use the facility. It was impossible to see what was displayed on the screen or obtain drinking water. We were able to empty the dirty water but could not rinse the black-water cassette. We had to leave. What a shame.
Beautiful and quiet camper site, beautiful village. There should be more places like this. Thanks to the municipality.
Flat and quiet. Water costs €2 for five minutes. Toilet and gray-water disposal work. A tree in the middle of the parking area makes parking difficult because of its branches. Smells from the many garbage containers right next to it. No toilets. The village is nothing special.
Perfect area for one free night. Thank you. The area was almost full when we arrived. Several motorhomes left, which was a shame because one van was using two spaces with a chair set up.
Nice parking area, but all the camper spaces were occupied, so we used a car space just behind them and left early in the morning. The town is very beautiful and worth a short visit.
Area with working services. Be careful, the parking fills up quickly! Quiet night. Charming village with a bakery and a grocery store.
We spent the night here and slept very well. It is a quiet place where about 14 motorhomes can park properly, although the sign says six. It is practically in the village; in less than five minutes you can reach the castle or the center. I am not giving it five stars because the water does not work, and according to other people, it has been that way for a long time. What a shame.
The screen on the water tap is so weathered that it is no longer possible to fill up with fresh water.
Always a good place to stay. You can visit the charming town of Peralada.
Very good motorhome area for resting and discovering this lovely little village. Thank you to the municipality.
Although many more motorhomes stayed overnight than allowed, it was a quiet and pleasant night. The town is quite small but beautiful, and in the evening there is still time for a beer. The disposal station is well equipped. We did not need water or electricity.
The area is fairly good, with plenty of space. Be careful if you have a large vehicle with a trailer; parking is very complicated. Otherwise it is fine. It is impossible to fill up with water because the station does not work. I tried with two cards, but nothing happened, and nothing is visible on the payment terminal.
Very busy at the camper site; there were eventually 23 vehicles, packed closely together. We slept peacefully. The village does not have much to offer at this time of year. Many storks. The service point is a filthy mess, thanks to fellow campers. Filling water costs €2 for five minutes, with little pressure. We stopped after €4 because it was not really getting anywhere. Rinsing the cassette is only possible after payment.
A very beautiful, quiet town with atmosphere. The parking area officially has only 12 spaces, but 20 vehicles stayed overnight. Sometimes you can hear sheep nearby and the clattering of storks in the nearby trees.
Peralada is worth a visit. The museum is very worthwhile. There are 12 spaces here, two groups of six, plus about eight more spaces next door except on weekends. There were 16 motorhomes in the main area and another eight campers next door.
Parking area at the entrance to the medieval village, a real feast for the eyes. Free, limited to 48 hours, but worth the detour. It was full last night, but several spaces were available this morning. Thank you to the municipality.
Free area at the entrance to the town. Water is paid: €2 for two minutes, with very good pressure.
The site is perfectly fine as a stopover. Complaints about toilet paper at the disposal point would be unnecessary if campers would finally learn that the paper belongs in the garbage, not in the cassette.
It's a rip-off: paying €2 for five minutes of water would be fine, except the flow is ridiculously weak, so you have to pay several times if you need to fill 100 liters. Emptying the cassette is also terrible; there is a bar across the hose opening that catches the toilet paper, not to mention the motorhomes packed tightly together beside the roundabout. In short, awful.
Water tap worked for us, but the card reader and payment is ?!!? Emptying of cassette is very awkward also. We did not need to stay overnight.
A beautiful and quiet place. Drinking water is available again.
A stop for emptying and filling water. Unfortunately, the water station still does not work. The amount appears for card payment, then an error occurs. What a shame.
We slept quietly here. The site was brightly lit all night. The trees should be trimmed because they hang too low. Unfortunately, the water supply has not worked for months, according to a local resident. The stork program in the village is especially worth mentioning. I saw about 20 occupied stork nests!
Free parking and a nice town to walk around. However more importantly the cross bar stopping you emptying the toilet cassette into the very high toilet cassette pipe is ridiculous and must be fixed. Lost all stars for worst cassette emptying ever seen.
