110 Via dello Squalo, 58100, Principina a Mare
Been here?
A shaded, unpaved parking area beside the beach, suited to small campers and only 50 meters from the sea. There are no services, and vehicles over 5 meters are prohibited; an asphalted section nearby costs 5 € per day. It is a normal car park rather than a camping area, and recent reports warn of vehicle break-ins.

It is a normal car park; camping is not allowed, but it is fine for spending a day or night. The police passed two or three times, which made us feel safe. The beach is next to it, along with a beach bar.
The rear car park, which is free and unpaved, is reportedly frequently targeted by car thieves, according to the police. Our camper was also broken into while we were at the beach. The previous night was fine because we were not the only ones there. However, I would not want to stay there alone. Suspicious cars and people were also there at night, not people who were going to the beach.
We can confirm the description. However, we were there from Saturday to Sunday, and it was anything but quiet because of the bar there, which parties until midnight. Several fishermen arrived from 4 a.m. Showers are available when the adjacent beach resort is open. Dogs are allowed.
Excellent free unpaved car park, shaded and without services, for small vehicles; vehicles over 5 metres are prohibited. Before entering the unpaved car park, there is a paved car park without services costing €5 per day. Both car parks have direct access to the beach. We stayed for two consecutive nights during the week in complete tranquillity.
The most beautiful beach for us on the entire trip. Everything was very peaceful in the off-season. We were in a VW bus with a dog.
Beach proximity is superb. Shady camping spots. Nearby bushes serve as convenient places to go for the toilet. ✨Please take your toilet paper to a bin though!!!!✨ loads of bins available. No reason to litter.
Very quiet place under the pine trees for a restful night. The sea is 50 m away, making for a lovely morning walk. Very clean. When we were there, there were no problems.
Fantastic quiet spot—and right next to a very clean beach.
Please be very careful in the rear parking area. We observed a larger gang with stolen motorhomes, apparently specializing in breaking into motorhomes. The vehicles belonging to this gang clearly showed signs of forced locks and other unmistakable characteristics. We informed the police. If anything seems suspicious, report it.
A very beautiful and quiet spot. Absolutely nothing going on. Two other campers are here with us, so we are alone.
Broken into. Someone drove another motorhome next to us and cut the alarm cable. Two minutes later they were gone. This happened between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
In summer it is no longer free. The dirt parking area is now prohibited for vehicles longer than five meters, according to a prohibition sign. Just before it there is a paved parking area a short walk from the long beach. In winter the entire parking area is free; a sign indicates that the daily summer fee is €5. It is still a beautiful, affordable place by the sea.
Been here many times, never had the slightest problem. Contrary to what others claim, the “wild” Maremma beach is not forbidden to dogs. Up to the Ombrone River, this is not part of the park’s core zone, so it is wonderful with dogs.
We stayed at the very back overnight here (December 2025); everything was fine.
November 5–7, 2025. Parking under the pines is only for cars shorter than 5 m. Most spaces are under trees, so you also need to consider your vehicle’s height. The front parking area by the restaurant, which was already closed by this time, is also suitable for larger vehicles. Beautiful beach. Absolute peace and quiet.
Unfortunately, it is very sad to read that there are break-ins here too. Luckily, we cannot confirm this. We had a very quiet night at the beginning of October. Several other campers were there. Great natural beach. Shaded spots under the pines.
Warning: we were just alerted. A female camper had just been broken into and everything searched. Apparently another vehicle was broken into yesterday. What a shame!
Right next to the beach; we felt safe :). The beach bar is also very nice :). The police came once and reminded us that this is not a campsite.
Great place, just a one-minute walk to the beach! My VW Crafter easily found a spot. There were also a few other fairly tall campers, about 3 m high. To find a space, it is best to come in the morning or evening. We spent two nights here. Information for dog owners: the wild beach area is part of the Maremma Nature Park—dogs are not allowed, even on a leash.
Great shaded spot for a van, with a supervised free beach opposite the parking area.
Excellent parking for low cars, not campers. The only thing missing is water, but during the day the bar is open with toilet and shower facilities. Quiet, 30 m from the sea, shaded, and with rubbish bins.
Nice place, but on Saturday evening there was disco music and noise until late at night. From 6 a.m. people started arriving at the beach. Very few actual hours of sleep. In the evening, we had a close encounter with a fox!
