Perfect for visiting Lucerne; the place is shaded as well.

Very good parking area, plenty of space on the side of the street, a shaded area and a forest next to it where you can walk your pet. You can take the hotel funicular down for €3 per ticket. Wonderful.

Very good parking area for visiting Lucerne, but there are very few spaces. We were lucky that one remained when we arrived.

Very convenient parking for visiting Lucerne. You can reach the city center via the funicular (you can also walk down and up, but the funicular is more convenient!).

A wonderful place to explore the city. Fifteen minutes on foot to the center. Incredible views and peaceful. Suitable for long vans. There is a turning area in front on the restaurant grounds. Parking with a blue disc is limited to no more than five hours.

Easy access and super-nice hotel staff! We took the train down, visited the city and took the train back up. Three Swiss francs per trip per person.

Great Place for motorhomes

A few meters from Hotel Gütsch; buy tickets for the Gütschbahn (funicular) at the reception. The upper station is next to the hotel. From the lower station it is a 10-minute walk to the old town. Five hours of parking with a parking disc—what more could you want? In October there were still plenty of parking spaces. The return ticket is available from the machine next to the bus stop.

I would not recommend it for long motorhomes. Turning around is difficult. We used the hotel car park. Funicular €3 or stairs. The old town is nearby.

Good car park for visiting Lucerne city center. We arrived early and had no problem parking our motorhome. We went down and returned using the hotel funicular, which is free and leaves you five minutes from the center. Since we didn't have a blue parking disc, we put a note showing the time we parked.

It is not worth parking so far away unless there is no other option.

After becoming frustrated with the parking situation in the city center—without Swiss francs and without an app—we tried here. We had underestimated the steep streets. With our bicycles we couldn't find a suitable route into the city, so in the end, as it was already late, we gave up in frustration.

Maximum 5hrs parking free. Walk the path through the forest going to the city for about 25 minutes. For us 5hrs was good enough to see the City (Kappelbrücke, Löwendenkmal). We didn't have the blue card(Parkscheibe) as it was Sunday, guess nobody controlled the area. On weekdays, better have the blue card with you.

I do not recommend this parking area; the path leading into town is very inconvenient and five hours are not enough to visit the city. I would not spend the night here for any reason.

A very good place to leave the vehicle and visit the city. In our case we did not need a blue disc, as it is not required on Sundays. Since it is in the upper part of the city, walking downhill gets you to central Lucerne quickly. If you want to use the elevator, that is also possible for a fee. Elevator tickets are not bought in the elevator itself, but from a machine at a nearby bus stop.

We parked from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a blue disc. Five hours are free, enough to see the city. No services of any kind, about 20–25 minutes walking to the city center.

I loved the parking area. It is a street where about six cars can fit, but we had no problem. There is a maximum stay of five hours, which is more than enough to walk around all of Lucerne. It is true that the walk to the center takes about 35 minutes. I recommend it.

This car park does not really let you rest. Many children playing ball in the neighborhood, along with roaring cars on the narrow road to Château Gütsch.

Great free parking spot for 5 hours. 15 minute walk to the city centre (quite steep). We we're very happy to have found this place with the help of P4N. We visited on a Monday.

Hello fellow campers, unfortunately I fell for the many good reviews. The residents opposite stare at you unpleasantly, and across the street there is a place where football is usually played. One particularly inconsiderate child kicked the ball against our motorhome with full force. Find somewhere else at one of the excellent legal sites in Lucerne.

Not recommended! You can only park during the day time. Sleeping in your vehicle is not allowed. When the local police comes to check, you could get a hefty fine. In the weekend it‘s quite loud. There are much better places to park in Lucerne!

Second visit within two years - same bad experience. Very unsought by the neighbouring residents. Cable-car to oldtown cost us 2.50 one way and was out of order for over 24h. It took us 30min by foot to get down/uphill to the city center. Most parking lots are steep, only few flat ones. There are better spots around the lake.

Perfect for visiting Lucerne, free for 5 hours during the day.
