Unnamed Road, 290 92, Laganas
Been here?
Tartaruga Camping is a shaded, terraced campsite under olive trees, with comfortable but somewhat uneven and partly wild pitches. Motorhomes should use the upper area near the restaurant because the lower road is steep and difficult. High-season camping costs 21.50 for a motorhome and 2 adults, including electricity. Chemical toilets can be emptied and refilled with clean water, and the tavern has a bay view; German may help if the owner is absent.

A rather free-spirited campsite with comfortable and somewhat wild pitches, which is its main charm. We really enjoyed the view over the bay and the peace and quiet. Clean sanitary facilities. If the owner is not there to welcome you, it is strongly recommended that you speak German or Greek.Translating
Some people want toilets with paper, soap, hand dryers, a view, the sea, and so on—preferably all for €15 with electricity, plus a great beach, of course. You should not look for these requirements in this country, which we have known for over 30 years.Translating
Right on the beach. Pitches are quite spacious. BUT: very poorly maintained site. Pitches are uneven; several showers and toilets are very old and dirty, with no toilet paper, soap, or hand dryers. Sometimes there was no hot water. No bins on the site. The lower pitches, the nicest ones, cannot be reached with a motorhome or caravan. Unfortunately, we will not return to this site. €23 is a bit expensive.Translating
Unfortunately, very few terraced pitches with a view. Difficult and steep access. For motorhomes, only the pitches near the restaurant are usable, but unfortunately they overlook a wire fence. Farther down, there is a good option for tent campers or VW vans. The operators were not helpful, and the restaurant and reception looked rather shabby. Very disappointing; we drove away again.Translating
Great site with very nice beach access. The owner is also very nice and speaks German. €23 for two people with a car and rooftop tent was fine. Clear recommendation! The road to the lower pitches is very steep. The sanitary facilities were okay, nothing special.Translating
Terraced pitch with plenty of shade and renovated sanitary buildings—the best I have seen on the Ionian Islands. Very good and tasty taverna. The host sits at your table and tells you what is available that day. Affordable and absolutely delicious. If you like, fresh bread can even be delivered to your pitch in the morning. Private cove with a jetty and swimming platform.Translating
Really beautiful place! ❤️❤️❤️Translating
Best campsite in Greece. Excellent food, friendly owner, cozy and spacious pitches, wonderful sea—everything you could wish for.Translating
We left again. The site itself is not intentionally bad, but the individual areas are sometimes uneven, sometimes very small or blocked. In the toilet there was a pallet-sized cardboard box with large bird-dropping stains, twice 30 cm in diameter. When I asked what it was, nobody knew, so it is apparently hardly cleaned at all. Truly embarrassing for an Austrian campsite.Translating
Very nice camp, but if you have a big camper, better stay on top. If you go down the hill, its hard to go out as its very steep, even with my small van. No kitchen, lights who kills thousands of insects, witch bring lots of lizards and I saw a snake next to eat the deaths insects. Owner not very helpful or friendly
The most beautiful campsite of our entire journey through Greece and Croatia. Thank you, Veith! We were there in mid-May and had a wonderful, relaxed, and peaceful time. We stayed for 11 days in total. Everyone around us was incredibly kind and friendly. The bay is a dream! The access is a little steep. All in all, excellent!Translating
Quiet campsite with access to the bay, although the path there is very strenuous. Many shady pitches where you are not packed closely together. Clean sanitary facilities. The campsite taverna is highly recommended. It would be nice if there were a sign showing where reception is; the owner cannot always be found.Translating
Honestly, this little campsite is paradise, with each pitch having its own terrace so you can have peace and quiet. It is a bit of a workout to get down to the water, but it is so beautiful and pleasant. Hot showers and fairly clean. €21 for two people, a van, and a dog.Translating
We can recommend the site. Lots of nature and very nice pitches. We had a brilliant view of the bay. Small pebble beach for swimming and snorkeling. The washrooms are very clean.Translating
There’re a few nice places. The campsite, even it’s quite steep, has potential. There’re no cooking facilities. The friendliness of the owners was just ok. What’s NOT OK are the ultraviolet lamps KILLING a lot of attracted insects!!! In add. we where told to let the grey water into the nature which goes at the end to the ocean with e.g. the endangered turtles. There’s obviously a lack of education
For us, the nicest site on the island. Wonderful hosts. Super delicious restaurant with a lovely terrace to relax on. Nice, varied pitches. Unbeatable value for money. Friendly, mixed clientele. Swimming with the sea turtles was the highlight of our entire vacation. We will definitely come back.Translating
Great campsite! I originally wanted to stay for one night but ended up staying three nights! Very clean sanitary facilities, hot water, a wonderfully idyllic spot, many different pitches spread throughout the grounds, very good Wi-Fi reception, very good and inexpensive food, a very relaxed site owner, and a private beach exclusively for campers at the site.Translating
Spent four nights at this magnificent campsite with a breathtaking view. The sanitary facilities are clean and very functional. It is very pleasant to swim just below the campsite, and it also gives your calves a workout because the campsite is entirely sloped. We will come back.Translating
We had a fantastic large pitch down near the sea, with our own water connection. Others were parked much closer together. Beautiful swimming jetty with loungers and a shower by the water. The lower washrooms are unfortunately very neglected, with only a cold shower, and the toilet-paper bin had not been emptied for days. The walk up to the more modern facilities is very steep and long. The tavern’s food is very good, but the service is unstructured and the wait is long.Translating
