Been here?
This service area is a natural, generally quiet place on the heights of Pottenstein, with pitches that can be spacious but may be uneven or poorly maintained. The price is 12 euros until 12:00 the next day, while electricity and service facilities cost extra; there are no sanitary facilities. Traffic is audible during the day but usually quiet at night. Forest paths, walking routes, activities and a Netto supermarket are nearby.

Compared with other motorhome pitches in the region, this place is not well maintained. In Gößweinstein, 6 km away, you pay less, but the site is clean and offers all the amenities of a motorhome pitch. I do not expect toilets, but I do expect a pleasant surface. That is not provided here; everything has the feel of an industrial park. Nevertheless, three stars for the service and disposal facilities.Translating
You have to bear in mind that this site costs only €12, with water disposal, fresh-water supply and electricity charged extra. If you do not like it, simply drive on instead of expressing your displeasure with a bad review. The site is natural and offers some shaded places when the sun is out. We still like it and will come again!Translating
The lower section is a very nice place; the road is bearable, the grass had been freshly mowed, and otherwise it was clean too. The surroundings outside the site are industrial, without noise. Signage for hiking trails from the site could be better. There is a Netto supermarket about 150 metres away, so supplies are also assured.Translating
Good motorhome pitch. You can hear traffic during the day, but it did not bother us. Rubbish can be disposed of. Electricity and service facilities are subject to a fee. There are no sanitary facilities. We did not find it dirty, unlike some other negative comments.Translating
Very dirty and sloping. We drove away again because one should not spend a holiday beside a collapsed garage and next to a scrap heap. We were not willing to pay €12 for something like that.Translating
The road can be heard during the day, but it is fairly quiet at night. A great starting point for various hikes or bike tours. Shopping facilities nearby. I would gladly come again.Translating
As always, a centrally located motorhome pitch.Translating
Very nicely secluded motorhome pitch with electricity, rubbish disposal and service facilities available for a fee. €12 until noon the next day. Grey-water disposal is easy to access. The road is very loud during the day with many motorcyclists, but there is little traffic at night. Beautiful hiking trails start directly from the site. I liked it.Translating
The site looked good, but campers were parked very close together. It was not for us, so we drove on. Everything was clean, and the service and disposal facilities were right at the entrance. It is in an industrial area, with shopping about two minutes away on foot.Translating
Excellent site, lots of space. The noise level is actually fine: car traffic during the day, and everything quiet in the evening and at night. Very well located, with opportunities for walks—a dream with a dog.Translating
Excellent site—whether it stays clean is up to us motorhome users. Quiet at weekends. Many things are within walking distance: hiking routes, a summer toboggan run, golf, Norma supermarket and more. A starting point for many beautiful hikes. We thank the municipality for providing such a great overnight option. We used levelling blocks, but only had to compensate for a slight slope.Translating
Not cleared in winter, unfortunately.Translating
Everything you need is available. Somewhat secluded. We only used it for filling and emptying. Everything worked. Thanks for providing this option.Translating
The site is fine, mostly gravel, with some trees and services as described. Steep road down to Pottenstein. Relatively quiet.Translating
A somewhat secluded motorhome pitch with a fairly steep approach. Prices are reasonable. We arrived quite late and connected to electricity for €2, had to add another €2 at 00:30, and it was gone again at 5:30. I doubt that we could have used 4 kWh within seven hours.Translating
Very well-maintained site. Pitches 1 and 2 have a slight slope, but it is manageable. Otherwise, I find the prices reasonable: €12 is fine, and the other charges are fine too. You can hear some traffic, but I did not find it particularly bothersome. To all the complainers: if you need more luxury, look for a campsite, where you will certainly pay more.Translating
Everything was fine, as described in the other reviews. However, the disposal station does not work properly. When rinsing the chemical toilet, the water pressure was so high that faeces splashed out. The fresh-water supply has too little pressure: at most 30 litres went into the motorhome before the station switched off.Translating
Excellent site for self-sufficient stays. To those who complain that €1 for about 60 litres of fresh water is too much: at the discount supermarket, bottled still mineral water costs about €1 per litre. Buy a few crates there and fill the tank—done.Translating
Gravel surface but partly sloping. Black-water disposal costs €1. The site must be vacated by 12:00.Translating
Gravel parking area with a few individual niches, surrounded by hedges and trees. Very quiet at night, and fresh bread is available in the nearby Norma supermarket within walking distance. Payment can be made by card, and all water and waste facilities are available and work flawlessly. One star deducted because of the location in an industrial area.Translating
I can only agree with Mxler. You have vehicles that cost well into the six-figure range to purchase, and then people complain about amounts of a few cents. Some Germans are becoming more and more pathetic. Greed is all that matters now. Please buy single-ply toilet paper; it's cheap, and your brown finger will thank you.
To be honest, one is ashamed of the fellow campers. What has become of the camping world? Nothing is free (except death, almost). You can no longer listen to all this whining about €1 for water or electricity. Go back to the hotel!!!!!! To the operators: please continue exactly as you are WITHOUT toilets, and expose the people who defecate in the bushes. Better yet, disrupt the television reception.
I like it here—not perfect, but I’m not looking for that either! €12 is fine as long as it doesn’t get more expensive. To everyone who always complains about every little thing: the next travel agency surely isn’t far away, and the hotels are still waiting for you!
We were here for two nights; for us it was perfect. I don’t know why people always complain. €12 is perfectly reasonable, and €1 for toilet disposal is too. Electricity according to consumption is also fine.
Very clean site; it would be even better with sanitary facilities.
Sixty liters of fresh water for one euro is too much. Charging one euro for toilet disposal as well is simply unnecessary with a pitch fee of €12. The parking lot farther down is much more central and, in my opinion, better. The price is the same!
We only filled up with water. The notice says approximately 80 liters for €1, but only 60 liters come out. You can certainly feel ripped off. It’s less about the few cents… as if the town needed the money. The pitches are so sloped that several campers had wooden beams under their hydraulic leveling jacks. €12 for this?
One night costs €12; payment can be made in cash or by EC card. The toilet was closed during our visit.
I have never seen such a run-down site. Truly terrible! The town of Pottenstein should be ashamed of advertising something like this as a motorhome harbor! And then charging €12 as well… absolutely outrageous!
