Been here?
This is a quiet parking area with benches and free overnight stays, situated beside a quietish road and close to a pleasant river walk. The on-site cafe serves food, hot drinks and cakes, with toilets available when open; it currently opens at 9h30 and is closed Mondays. The area is usually peaceful, although some traffic and occasional cafe or car-park events may create noise. Dogs are not allowed at the river.

Great place to spend the night. There were 2 vans. You can hear the cars a little, but it’s fine... The walk to the river is lovely, but don’t expect to take your dog to the river; it isn’t allowed. The café is incredible; it opens at 9:30 a.m. and has lots of lovely things for sale. A place you absolutely must see!
Lovely little stop with benches. Away from the main road. Short walk down to the river. Cafe available.
Such a lovely spot. On a quietish road well away from the main A road. Very welcoming staff. Try to buy something or visit the cafe to show support
Excellent little find just off a quite B road. Only us and the sheep in the field across the carpark. Cute riverside walk and due to being out of season the craft centre next door is closed till the end of January.
A correction to the info, the cafe is now open every day except Monday. Interesting gallery, delicious cakes, owners and dog delightful.
Spent a very quiet night here. Just us - and 4 nosy sheep! The car park seems like a public rest area, so I’m not really sure it’s up to the cafe to decide? but it’s nice, polite and easy to ask anyway. Toilets in the cafe when it’s open and a nice river walk.
Extraordinary place. Would give 6 stars easily. Owner is lovely. Cafe food excellent. Asked if it was ok to sleep the night and she said yes go park on the grass. Bought a copper bracelet from craft shop. All locally made. Please support this place it’s one of a kind.
Quiet area where you are allowed to stay overnight free of charge. Cafe on site.
We spent 2 peaceful nights here. Delicious cakes at the cafe. Woke up with sheep wondering around.
Lovely little cafe serving hot drinks, cakes and pastries. We enjoyed a cream tea. When asked if ok to stay overnight they were absolutely fine with that. However they do hold events in the cafe and car park so always worth phoning ahead. All in all a delightful stop and very quiet at night. Felt very safe.
Lovely spot. Cafe and craft centre. River walk.
Excellent. Be careful to leave space for tea-room customers, even in the evening, as there are occasionally private events. Very quiet for one night, with no noise or disturbance.
Perfect park-up, quiet, nice food, lovely owners, nice river walk.
Very peaceful. Felt safe. Lovely location. Perfect for overnight stop. Tied for time so unfortunately couldn’t wait for cafe to open. Hopefully next time. Highly recommend.
If I could give this place a 6 stars I would. We were the only people here all night. Sheep were by the picnic table upon arrival. They were just closing the cafe and we asked if it was okay to stay, they said 100%. Peaceful night. In the morning we had a sausage roll from the cafe and it was delicious. The owners are so lovely and asked if we slept okay too. 10000% recommend and will return
Wonderful place for a walk along the river and to dip your feet in the water.
Nice place to spend a night, which we were kindly allowed to do. Too bad the coffee shop closes so early. Fairly quiet.
Lovely car park for the cafe and craft shop. They allow one free night but I think people were being cheeky so you'd have to chat if you wanted to stay longer. The owners are lovely though and the cakes to die for...please purchase something! Very peaceful overnight
Great place for a night. River walks and great food and service from the cafe.
