It is a small track leading down to the river; there were several campers. We did not dare descend with the motorhome because the first section of the track was in very poor condition, with stones and potholes. However, we parked directly opposite, on the other side of the road, and spent an incredible afternoon swimming in the river; there are pools very suitable for children!
Very nice spot beside the river. Very quiet, and fairly level if you go all the way to the end of the track. Peaceful and, contrary to the message, we had 4G.
Sloped! But otherwise fairly quiet at night, and a good backup spot for staying around Pont de Camps, as the other spots are generally full.
Quiet spot, not level at all and quite difficult to adjust even with leveling blocks. You can swim in the river. Quiet despite the nearby road.
It has become private; it belongs to the farm. There were four vans, and the gendarmerie made us all leave with a warning. If you want to sleep there, you have to cross the pass on the Spanish side.
Lovely spot just off the road- with the sound of the gushing river and the cow bells. The start of the track to get in is not good with pot holes and loose rock. There is parking slightly further on the right where people spent the night. We tried to take our dog on a walk on the trail across the river however there are no dogs allowed even on a lead for the safety of the sheep.
We arrived around midnight. The track is sloped, and the entrance is very risky in a motorhome. I do not recommend it. However, the place is magnificent.
Close to the road but with little traffic. Hiking trail starting on foot. River just below. Very nice.
Great places with few trails starting here. Watch out, dogs are not allowed on the trails. There are a lot of people staying along the road up to col portalet. At this place in particular there were 6 vans and cars parked for the night.
Busy at this time of year, with quite a few day visitors coming for hiking and climbing, so we settled for a similar parking area 100 m farther up on the left. Wheel chocks are essential because it is very steep. The sound of the bells drowns out the traffic. The proximity of the Artouste train is great, especially for an 8:30 departure :)
Excellent spot with horses and cows for company. The road is quiet in the evening and at night. The river is indeed noisy, but it is part of the charm of the place.
Very nice place. The road is busy but you cannot hear it much because the river is so loud. Very nice for sleeping, but a little too noisy for my taste. I still recommend stopping here.
Very beautiful place, with the little river nearby making it very pleasant. Quite busy in summer, and the road is just above, but it is not too bothersome because the sound of the water dominates!
Still noisy! The road is very busy and people drive too fast! On the other hand, the stream is beautiful and the climbing boulders are nice. Several very cool hiking trails start here.
Absolutely perfect. We arrived just as the best spot became available. A peaceful night after swimming, and we woke up to flocks of sheep. Fantastic!
Very beautiful spot by the river, with about 3 or 4 mostly flat spaces. We arrived a little too late for those, so we ended up on the other side of the road, going up a grassy path above the small parking area. Flat spot, ultimately quite easy to access; we have a normal van. Very peaceful.
Quite busy spot, with several vans and tents, but very pleasant; everyone can have their own space. Magnificent scenery and a very peaceful night with the sound of water in the background. When we arrived, the flock had taken over the area, which was lovely to see. In the evening, the shepherd came to meet us and we were able to buy cheese from him.
A spot suitable for vans beside the river, which lulls you to sleep at night. The road above does not bother you at all. Very quiet night. Lovely walks nearby. The shepherd comes by in the evening to offer sheep's cheese, which is very good. I recommend it, and it is a chance to talk about the region.
Terrible place for motorhomes, probably better for vans. Poor access, with stones and potholes. When we arrived it was full and there was no way to maneuver, making it difficult to leave in reverse. In addition, almost the entire area is sloped. Find somewhere else!
Magical place, not much space and access limiting for vehicles.
