Supermarket parking, bicycle theft

Good place, toilet in the supermarket, water at the car wash, bicycles remained safe, quiet at night. We were satisfied!

Fifteen minutes by bicycle to the city via cycle paths. On the second night, around 12:30 a.m., two thieves tried to steal our bicycles while we slept in the vehicle. They were clearly equipped with powerful bolt cutters and quickly cut through our multiple steel cables. Fortunately, we managed to chase them away in time without losing anything.

We stayed two nights. Online payment for parking did not work. We saw the store security guard, who said that if there was a problem we could stay. About 3 km from the city center. Bus line 26. For water, the car-wash station was closed early in the morning, so the taps did not work.

It’s okay. A bit noisy until around 11 pm, then quiet. It’s now £8.99 for 24h. You can only choose between 1–5h or 24h parking.

We slept here two nights, a little noisy, but nothing too bad. Easy bus access to the old town. We did some shopping at the market and informed them that, being foreigners, we couldn't download the app. They told us that parking was free.

Arrived in the morning. Did some shopping. Asked store manager about parking more than 3 hrs because we cannot download the app. Was told not to worry as it is not monitored. We walked up to Arthur’s Chair and back. Didn’t stay overnight.

We had to pay £20 for two days through the app. The petrol station toilet was also 'broken', so we could not use it. However, there is a convenient bus connection to the center and a large supermarket on site.

Great place, quiet and level, with shopping available to stock up the motorhome. Well located: 1.6 km walk to the beach and about 3.7 km to the city, allowing you to enjoy the beauty of the park up to the church ruins on the mountaintop. There is a parking fee, which we could not pay because our phone is foreign and cannot access the app.

We did not even have to pay for parking overnight. We asked at the store reception and they told us it was not necessary. Very convenient for shopping and using the toilets until 10 p.m. We returned the next day. The view is not the best, but in terms of practicality, nothing to complain about!

Beware of this parking area! Last night at 2:45 a.m., they tried to steal the bicycles from the van parked right next to ours. Luckily, they noticed and sounded the horn, and the hooded man ran away. They cut the chain with bolt cutters, so they came prepared. They did not touch our bikes, possibly because they had security locks. A shame, as the location is perfect.

Absolutely avoid this place if you own a campervan with bicycles! Many young people hang around late afternoon to scout for theft. It is very noisy and frankly not safe at all. Since we had a baby, we preferred '5 Fettes Avenue', next to the Police of Scotland. Very safe and quiet, with easy access to the city and many parking spaces.

No longer free, but still a good place to visit the city. We had lunch at Doctors on Forrest Road, which we recommend. Delicious and pleasant.

Stayed here one night. Unfortunaly not free. Signs up saying ‘3hrs free parking and if staying longer pay via app’. Staff advised us to pay when asked. £8.99 for 24hrs. Very quiet during night (10pm onwards as this is when shop shuts) usual car park noise until then. When arrived at 1230 mid day there were around 6 vans. Visited Edinburgh for the afternoon. Number 4 or 26 bus from outside dominos takes you to princes street 10min journey £2.20 signal ticket. When arrived back about 2 vans left. Around 9/10pm few more vans appeared. 530am seagulls on van making noise and 630 alarms for shop going off. Still managed to sleep till 830 after this though. Toilets clean inside, bin outside shop, easy link to Edinburgh. Would stop again for convenience.

Stayed for one overnight. Checked permission from store staff. No charge and no signage to suggest payment required. Quiet during the night. Park on the perimeter away from view of main road. I would use this option again if visiting Edinburgh.

Free parking; no one asked us for anything. Water available and a shop for groceries. One of the best nights of our stay in Scotland. Bus 26 to Edinburgh city center, £2.20.

We parked all day while visiting the city and had no problems.

Very well located. Thirty minutes' walk to the center. Spacious parking area. We spent two nights without any problems and have already returned to this same parking area. Free, and you can use the supermarket toilet. No services, but safe.

Perfect for visiting Edinburgh. We stayed here quietly and safely for two nights. The rear area is quiet. By bicycle it is about 10 minutes to the edge of the city center. Very convenient because of the well-stocked shop. Clean toilets during opening hours. Good internet. For water at the petrol station, just ask nicely.

Great spot to explore Edinburgh. I asked the Morrison staff if I could stay overnight and they said it's fine. I stayed 3 nights. Clean toilets in the supermarket and there's affordable breakfast in the cafe. It was quiet at night and it felt safe leaving my van during the day. It's a 10-15 min bus ride to the city center, £2.20 per ride with a £5 cap a day. First night a fox passed by my van:)

Free parking, perfect for one night. Quiet at night, at the morning you can hear a bird concert ;) Shop is open to 10 p.m, so when we came here at 8 p.m we had enough time to shopping. No one was interested about us here.

The payment option has been discontinued, so parking here is now free. After checking with security, it was no problem, but they only monitor the car for 12 hours.

We stayed there for one night. Security said we could stay as long as we wanted, and the supermarket also allowed us to use the toilets during opening hours. Good starting point for Arthur’s Seat; the city is about 20–30 minutes away, and it is also a pleasant walk.

We stayed here for one night. After checking with Morrison’s security, one night is free, with camera surveillance included. It was very quiet overnight; by bicycle, the city center is reachable in five minutes. There is also a very inexpensive petrol station next door.

It was a great place to leave the van and explore the city. We stayed one night and it was quiet. There are no restrictions on parking. Morrisons opens at 7:30 on most days and they have a toilet. 10 minute bus ride into center.
