A pair of lay-bys set 20-30m off the road, suitable for overnight stays. HGVs may use them, but passing traffic is light, and the bins are empty. Nights are totally dark, and overnight stays have been trouble-free.

Similar lay-by on both sides of the road, set 20-30m off the road. Arrived midnight, two HGVs already there. Little passing traffic during the night. Empty bins there too. Would stay here again. Total darkness at night. Stayed again a few nights later, no problems. HGV pulled in late and left early. Small town heading east has a shop, park and nice walks.
