This is a large, quiet, nearly level parking area beside the Schongau Fairytale Forest, suitable for a short overnight stop for self-contained campers. Overnight parking is free for visitors, with no toilet, electricity, food or drink outlets, or rubbish bins. Dromedaries and other animals are nearby, and the park staff are friendly. The area can be muddy, and the park may become busier in the morning.

Beautiful, clean site directly beside the dromedaries. The Märchenpark operators are very nice and offer an overnight parking place for campers purely out of enthusiasm for camping. Highly recommended! Märchenpark is a great destination for children. Suitable only for self-sufficient campers!

Small site, but we fit our 7.50 m vehicle at the edge. Otherwise, many playgrounds. Enough for daytime. ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️????
Great spot! We had an incredibly wonderful time in the park. The children didn’t want to leave. In the evening we were allowed to fall asleep in the parking lot next to the dromedaries. The owners provide this parking area purely out of friendliness toward campers. Please take your rubbish with you and don’t leave it there. Thank you, dear Märchenwald team, for your hospitality!!
Super beautiful parking area! With animals in the surroundings!
The site apparently no longer existed on 18 July 2025. A neighbor said there was no access to the camp anymore and referred us to the paid Asin camp on the other side. We drove on.
