Mountain parking, poor approach

This asphalt parking area near Wielka Sowa is spacious enough for cars and campers, and lies close to a stream. It is a useful base for trips to Wielka Sowa. The approach road has large potholes, and reports mention rubbish, flies and mosquitoes.

It is 9 p.m.; we park and there is nobody here, only five cars. I find it strange, so we call the local police to ask whether we can stay overnight or where to go, since we do not see any motorhomes. They kindly tell us that overnight stays are NOT ALLOWED anywhere in the municipality of Calonge. They send us to sleep in Platja d’Aro. Very close to the seafront promenade and also to Palamós. Mercadona opposite. Ten minutes from the beach.
Excellent laundromat with dryers and an iron; there is a machine where you can buy detergent and fabric softener. You can pay by card or cash. There is no coin-changing machine. It is recommended to park on the main avenue, Barón Ruzetteland, if you are coming with a very large motorhome.
