Been here?
A large, stony and uneven plot beside the road offers plenty of space, beach access, attractive views and spectacular sunsets. The exposed site is often very windswept, with pebble-covered parking areas and no services or bins. Bowmore is 20 minutes by bicycle, and the nearest ferry is 15 mns drive away.

Beautiful place, flat and spacious. We arrived after dark; it was easy to find.
We had already spent two nights here in September 2019, and it is still our favorite spot on Islay. Dog walkers were there late in the evening. No bin, so please leave the place clean.
Lots of space, nice views, and easy access to the beach. Cycling into Bowmore takes 20 minutes. Three campers were there at the same time, and there was still plenty of room for more.
Great spot on the bay. Quiet beach, small when the tides in but Bay drains completely. Very windswept though and exposed. Pebble track, uneven and 'lumpy' parking spots. No access to any services. (Miles from any). The whole zone is large 5-15cm pebbles so I wouldn't expect any anchor points etc. No signs or notices and no rubbish; so thank 'users'.
Great spot, shallow and therefore warmer than usual sea. There are about 11 Camper-vans here and seems to be plenty of room. No midges due to breeze - great!
