Quiet rest area, busy mornings

Would loved to have stopped but the tons of grit has returned. It appeared that the local farmer was moving it around and I felt I was in the way and so moved on.

Very quiet the night I stayed, busy in the morning so I ventured to see what all the fuss is about, nice walk along a track past a farm. Wear boots and take weather proofs, was a tad blowy. Nice spot, the bin was handy.

Stayed the night due to thunderstorm. Another van turned up shortly after us. The road noise was not intrusive and we are in a small van. Wide lay-by with a bin. It slopes a bit, but we were OK in the middle. The road was quite during the night but busy in the morning. Would recommend and use again.

Chipping mountains are now gone with only a small mound remaining so plenty of space for several vehicles. Occasional passing vehicle in the morning but otherwise very quiet

Unfortunately it is now filled with road grit. Ton’s of it. How long it will be there is anyone’s guess. Was a very good stop off on our return home from Scotland. Had to travel another 25 mls. To Haworth for a free one at Penistone Country Park. Beautiful Views but not that level, the one below not so good but sheltered
