Swans Nest, CV37 7LS, Stratford-upon-Avon
Been here?
A shared, level paid car park, 5 minutes’ walk from the RSC and convenient for Stratford-upon-Avon. It costs £27 for 24 hours or £40 for 72 hours, with card and app payment only. There are no facilities, and bright lights and daytime busyness contrast with relatively quiet nights.

Too expensive for what they offer. The parking area is shared. The good thing is that it is level and relatively quiet at night.Translating
3 stars since the location is fabulous - 5 minutes walk from the RSC. The rest is not so good - £27 for a space in a busy car park with annoyingly bright lights but absolutely no facilities (the public toilets run by The Embankment restaurant were closed with blocked drains) is frankly shocking. They were also resurfacing the entire motorhome area so there were only a handful of spaces available!
Last year I paid £14 for an overnight stay which I thought was reasonable bearing in mind there are no facilities/services. This year the cost has risen to £27 ! The previous night I stayed on fully serviced site for £16.50. I feel somewhat ripped off and will not use Stratford Sports club parking on my return.
Great for parking up our 7.5m motorhome and visiting Stratford-upon-Avon, a short walk to town, cost £4.60 for 3 hours so not cheap but it suited us for lunch and some shopping. Not many places that you can safely park when the spaces in the leisure center are full.
Yes, it's expensive for what you get, £27 for 24 hours. The race course was closed, unfortunately. Ideal for a sheltered night during high winds though. Great access into town. Groundspeople are annoyed at people using the skip for general rubbish. There are plenty bins in the park!
Please be aware that a new parking meter and ANPR system were installed on 04/09/2025, and new charges apply. Twenty-four hours now costs £27, and the hourly rates have changed. Seventy-two hours was £27 and is now £40! Card payment and an app are available; no cash. See the new signs.Translating
Parked up, however the pay machine wanted £27 for 24hours with no facilities! Enquired if the machine was faulty, was told the car park has been taken over by a new company and prices changed yesterday. Didn't stay, moved on.
Paid parking very close to the city centre. You can also park on the cricket-field side of the fence, but be sure to park perpendicular to it, because when we were there they had put up notices about motorhomes parked along the field's fence. Convenient public toilets.Translating
Large paid parking area suitable for even large motorhomes. The best and quietest location is on the right as you enter, with overnight stays permitted for up to 72 hours. The pitches are on bare ground with no marked spaces, facing the cricket field. The toilets are near the Ferris wheel and follow the opening hours of the adjacent bar.Translating
Perfect park up for being very central to the town. It overlooks a cricket pitch so your able to sit outside you MH and watch a match. Toilet nearby but apart from that no other facilities. Lots of bars and restaurants within throwing distance! Great value for money at £27 for 72 hours
An absolute gem of a place! Continue through the car park to the sports ground and you’ll see a row of camper vans to parked to your right. Perfect location, right on the river, loads of bars, cafes etc and short walk to town. Accessible for all size vans and public toilets to use. £14.20 for 24 hours with the option to stay for up to 72 hours! Will definitely return!
£14.20 for 24 hours. Very clean toilets, but closed from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. The town centre is five minutes away via a small pedestrian bridge.Translating
Nice flat pitches with a variety of durations available on the pay meter. We stayed on a Saturday evening and there were about 10 other campers. There was noise until about 1 am which included cars and loud music. I think this was from the carpark behind us but it was quiet afterwards. The phone signal was pretty good.
We stayed for 2 nights last week. It's a perfect location. Loads of lovely walks along the river & canal. Easy walk into town. We had 2 peaceful & safe nights and will definitely return. We paid £27 for 72hrs, as it was cheaper than 2 x 24hrs. The toilets at the recreation ground were nicer than the ones operated by the bar. But both were spotlessly clean. I highly recommend this park-up.
Fabulously flat , quiet and convenient spot. The nearest public loos were out of order. In the morning I recommend the hotel breakfast at The Swan's Nest, Bistro Pierre. It was £14 for a hot breakfast choice plus the buffet . The loos there are very nice and it is so handy!
Excellent place to park, there was a new “evening charge” in place that was only £8.30 from about 5pm until 10am so excellent value… flat and well drained, only one other camper and nice and quiet all night. Easy walk into town, so great spot.
Great place, £14.20 for 24hrs, very helpful parking attendant allowed our friends to take up two parking spaces due to the size of their MH, will return again
Great stop over, can get a little bit of music noise from the local bars, but nothing that kept us awake. Perfect location for walking around Stratford and taking in all the sights. Public loo’s were ok a 2 minute walk away. There is a garage with a Waitrose store a few minutes walk away for any essentials and bars and restaurants very very close by. We will definitely be back here.
nice place to stay, stayed on the 17/10/24 little bit expensive but in the heart of Stratford upon Avon.
Great place £27 for 72hr a short walk in to town where Shakespeare was born. There are 4 pubs 30 seconds away from this car park? I’m not kidding you if you wanna bar or a restaurant they are literally 30 seconds to a minute away. very quiet Stop over.and the butterfly zoo is worth a visit.
Make sure you go into the sports club car park to avoid height restrictions. Stopped here for the day yesterday, short walk into town with lots to do in the area. If we was visiting Stratford again would definitely return to this spot. Only downside is can get busy so would recommend getting here early if you plan on visiting at weekends
Excellent stopover. Pleasant setting on edge of cricket pitch (free game to watch!), bar & cafe, 24 hr public toilets 2 mins away. Loads of space but does get very busy. We arrived at 1 pm and found just 3 spaces left but it thins out from 4/5 pm. 6 vans overnight. 2 mins to Avon riverbank, 4 mins to town centre. Lovely friendly, helpful car park warden.
