Been here?
Camping River is a large campsite with pitches for tents and motorhomes, bungalows, rental tents, a pool, restaurant, playgrounds and a dog area. A large pitch with 10 A electricity was reported at €27, while an ACSI rate was reported as €23 plus €2 tax. The grounds can be shaded and quiet, but recent comments describe the older sanitary facilities as dirty, with cold or lukewarm water. A shuttle bus serves the nearby train station, and the pool requires a swimming cap.

We are here now; a very warm welcome. The two women at reception speak French very well. Many thanks to them. We are staying until Thursday.
We stayed on 18 May 2026 in the low season. Everything was a little neglected, but acceptable; we spent two good nights.
Reception was okay, not especially friendly. A choice of two types of ACSI pitches with different electrical amperage and sizes. We chose a large pitch with 10 A for €27. With the campsite now full, the sanitary facilities are extremely dirty; the water is cold or lukewarm and everything is stuck in the 1980s. I was glad to have my own facilities. The dump station is awkward, and the washing machines were too filthy to use. There is plenty to see nearby by bicycle.
Very friendly welcome, also in English! Large, quiet and beautifully landscaped site, barely occupied at the beginning of May. Very large sanitary area with many hot showers and toilets. A little old but clean, even with toilet paper. Free Wi-Fi. With an ACSI card, €23 plus €2 tax per night for two people. Reception closed from 1 to 3 p.m. Checkout by noon.
We were warmly welcomed, and the site is very nice. What is completely unacceptable are the sanitary facilities: old and dirty, impossible for us. A great shame.
We stayed four nights (€120). Everything was perfect for us. Large pitch for a 7.5 m motorhome and a trailer. We did not use the facilities because we have our own. The pool was closed. Wi-Fi worked moderately well. There are mosquitoes. Good pizza at the restaurant. The receptionist is friendly and speaks French, as does the restaurant staff.
Only two stars because there is plenty of shade, the pitches are spacious and there is a dog area. However, it is not maintained: mud on the paths, tall grass everywhere, holes in the pitches, and old, dirty bathrooms with lukewarm water—not exactly hot. A campsite with great potential but badly neglected. What a shame. We will not return.
Nice campsite with many shaded pitches. The women's toilet doors need attention, but since there are many toilets it was not a problem for us.
We paid €211 for a pitch for a motorhome, two people and a dog for five nights. There are sufficient sanitary facilities. The showers always had warm water. There is a pool, but swimming caps are compulsory. The campsite offers a free shuttle bus to the beach and the nearest train station in Sarzana.
This campsite is ideal for visiting Cinque Terre. For motorhome users, a shuttle bus runs to the train station, so you can safely leave the motorhome at the campsite. The pool is fine; swimming caps are compulsory. The sanitary facilities are indeed very old, hence one star less.
Campsite well located for visiting the Cinque Terre. Shuttle to Sarzana station makes it easy to visit all the villages by train, and there are also shuttles to the beach. Nothing around the campsite. Sanitary facilities are very old but clean. Beware of pitches with grass: during heavy rain, they flood and become muddy. Staff speak French and English and are very friendly.
They accepted us without a reservation. Evening entertainment. Showers and toilets need renovation and are not great. €59 for one night for three people and a van, a little expensive.
Super campsite! A pitch was available the same day, and the staff were extremely welcoming, speaking French and English very well. Electricity, showers and pool included. Pitch for a van and two small tents: shaded, level and very spacious. Very clean, plentiful and well-equipped sanitary facilities. Bar, restaurant and small grocery shop on site. Perfect!
Good campsite, friendly staff. They found a good pitch for our 3.25 m-high coachbuilt van. Small slides in the pool; the new large slides looked ready but were still closed. Too few loungers when busy. Sanitary facilities were clean.
Good location, but many pitches are unusable for tall campers because the trees have not been trimmed. The sanitary facilities are clean but really old. The pool was closed in June despite 29-degree weather. The pizza was not enjoyable. Instead of the agreed ACSI price of €27, we were initially charged €39 when leaving and it was corrected only after we complained. A shame; we probably will not return.
By moving away from the overcrowded coast, which is impractical for vans and motorhomes, we found peace, cleanliness and all the amenities at this campsite.
