not for free!! 7 euro pay each day
Free and right in the centre of the city, next to park, shops and toilets. Loads of campers. We arrived around 8pm on a Thursday and found a space easily.
Stayed Fri & Sat. This is a massive parking area. Counted 32 other vans. Lots of cars coming & going, so you will get a space. Felt safe. Close to U-bahn and walkable to a lot.
Because the cathedral was still being dismantled, I came here instead. Free and slept very well. Of course, you can hear a little road noise, but otherwise it is good for self-sufficient overnight stays. The Reeperbahn is within walking distance.
You shouldn't expect anything spectacular, but for one or two nights, if you are self-sufficient, it is perfectly fine. The Reeperbahn is right next door.
A really nice parking area. We were there with a car, but saw many motorhomes that had stayed overnight. It is very close to the city centre.
It is rather difficult to find a parking space here, as many vehicles—not just motorhomes—park here because it is free. There are also a few permanent residents and junk cars around. We'll see how long the city continues to tolerate it. Otherwise, it is a good, free place without facilities for visiting Hamburg. When the Dom festival is running, it is also noisy, as it is directly opposite.
