Been here?
A free, spacious dirt parking area for overnight stays near Gammelstad and its UNESCO-listed church town. It has no services, although bins are available and water can be obtained at a nearby petrol station. The terrain is flat or slightly sloping, with the slope manageable using levelling blocks. Train noise and traffic can be noticeable, including regular trains at night.

A good overnight spot if you don’t have high expectations. Close to Gammelstad, which is definitely worth a visit. The overnight spot is free and spacious enough for many campers.
Perfect for visiting the UNESCO World Heritage town.
There is plenty of space to park here, and you can easily walk to the church town.
Maybe okay as a parking area, but not suitable for overnight stays. Traffic on one side and railway tracks on the other; anyone who doesn’t hear them is deaf. This has nothing to do with camping in Sweden.
Beautiful place without waste and water services for visiting the town.
Flat ground without any prohibition, but there are regular trains even at night and, perhaps only on this particular day, a continuous dull noise from 10 p.m. We eventually went elsewhere.
Top parking area without services. Apparently newly created. You stand next to the railway line, but we didn’t notice it. The site is a little sloping, but leveling ramps easily solve that.
