Village parking, uneven ground

Very convenient and quiet car park. Toilets and bins on the site. A very friendly pub in the beautiful village just a few metres above.

Very peaceful and clean site. Spaces for camping and motorhomes. No electricity, but toilets nearby.

Toilets are clean but older. Please note that toilets are only open after 8am and are locked before this time. Seems to be a stopping place for delivery drivers and minibuses between jobs during the day. Can get a 4G signal in some spots for long enough to look up directions or travel info.

Excellent free spot, very quiet and simple, with clean public toilets. Terrible signal!

Pleasant, quiet, well-maintained car park with loos and nearby cafe. Surrounded by trees and busy corvids! 10 mins off the A2 near Canterbury, and half an hour from Dover. NB: Weak 4G phone signal in the area. Parking for up to 23hr is officially permitted. Many thanks to the local Parish Council!

Yep it isn't perfect but heck its a cracking site, women's toilets open all night if you give the door a little push but no light. they are nice and clean and so is the site. very little traffic at night and the ground is lovely and flat next to the fire station. will be back for sure thank you

Not great for an overnight as there seem to be lights everywhere, especially near the flat spots. Proximity to the tunnel is good but there are probably better options.

We need more of these in the UK - a large public car park with no height barrier on the edge of a pretty village and no cost. Some areas are a little bit sloping but plenty of flat too. The toilets were open 8.am to 6pm, with lighting and loo paper! The village has a tiny post office, two pubs and a tea room and the North Downs Way passes through it. An excellent place to stay overnight.

Very quiet night, the owl was still at it but quite a nice backdrop. Chilham is a charming little village, not much to do but lovely for a little stroll. Most places are on a slope so I overhung the grass patch near the entrance in my 7m. Didn’t notice any road noise overnight other than the fire engine coming into the car park and slamming around at circa midnight.

Arrived around midnight; one other van was parked up. An owl was nearby hooting, but otherwise it was a very peaceful night's sleep. Toilets open at 8 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. from April to September, and close at 4 p.m. from October to March.

The site is definitely recommended. However, there is only a poor mobile internet connection. Otherwise, excellent.

Really nice place to stay before catching the ferry. Try to park a little farther back from the road, otherwise you will get headlights. Lovely walk and village nearby; I would not park anywhere else for the ferry.

Stayed last night was very quiet only 1 other camper, lots of space to choose from. Toilet was open all night as well just need to push hard on the doors. I could recommend

We slept here for one night. Very quiet, with plenty of space. The toilets were locked. Rubbish bins are available. Good walking routes and a small pub nearby.

Nice large car park surrounded by trees. You can hear the road, but it is not bothersome. Men's toilets closed. We slept there for two nights and there were always other vans or motorhomes present. There is plenty of space.

We stayed overnight here. Good starting point for a walk, with places to stop for refreshments within a five-minute walk. Cars occasionally pass at night. Toilets were open continuously and there are rubbish bins. It is busier in the morning.

A pretty village with 2 quaint pubs and several walks nearby. Very sloping car park with no bays for large vans. We hung our 7.5m Moho over the small patch of grass near the entrance. Toilets are clean and open all night (push lightly on the door, it opens. A button inside releases it to come out)The road is busy all night. The fire station may be busy - we were woken a lot in the night.

The toilets are dirty and smell. The car park is large, with level ground by the wall. Pretty little village next door. We would stay here again. Many people arrived in the morning to start a hike.

Hi all know this well, free for 24 hours only. Has toilets open till 7pm lovely picnic area with bins. Free at night too but only 24 hrs then move on. I car camp and use weekly there is a fire station that can be loud when the train but very in the country great night stop. No phone signal!!!!!!!

Large car park, easy to find a space at the back. Very minor issues, the car park is on a slight slope and and the phone signal is poor but I can't complain too much as the parking is free. There is a beautiful village two minutes walk away that is worth visiting. I would recommend the pub in the evening and the tea room for breakfast/lunch.

Toilets closed for the night: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. in summer, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in winter. Nice car park. Free, quiet, with walks nearby.

Really good park up, we drove from France to UK yesterday and needed somewhere easy and safe for the night. Flat if you park by the wall. Good signal. Felt very safe, nice and quiet! Free for 23 hours

Loads of space, no height barrier, 23hr max stay like it says on the posting. Internet signals showing 1 bar 4g, but still enough to hotspot my roku and browse internet on phone. Nice find!

Handy spot with toilets and a nice walk on the Downs, but 4G is virtually nonexistent.

Clean and quiet. Perfect for a night.

Very noisy, even though we were there on a Sunday, and almost everywhere is sloping. However, it is close to Dover, has plenty of space, and is free, so it does the job.
