This is a secluded off-road pitch about 200 m below the paved road, beside a lava field with open views of the volcano and valley. The gravel access is difficult, especially uphill, and requires good ground clearance; a 4x4 is strongly recommended. There are no services, but the location is quiet, with little traffic and peaceful nights.

Superb spot for a peaceful night under the stars. A little away from the road, which has little traffic in the evening. No facilities.
We were with a T4 and we couldn't reach the exact point (the road was too bumpy for us), but we found and other one on that way. The night was quiet and we also saw the Etna's peak from there. Highly recommended!
A superb, peaceful place with a beautiful sunset! A very, very windy night, but very pleasant at this quiet spot. Be careful: access is somewhat difficult and requires good ground clearance; it is much easier with a 4x4, especially to get over the step between the path and the road. It was a beautiful experience right next to Mount Etna in the background!
Dreamily quiet place in a wild lava landscape. We stood slightly above the indicated place on a level area, which was also very beautiful. Highly recommended!
Beautiful place at an altitude of 1,630 m. The temperature is about 10 degrees lower than in Catania. A 4x4 with good ground clearance is recommended. The Etna cable car can be reached by car in about 20 minutes from here.
We parked here for one October night before climbing Mount Etna the next day. In our opinion, given the chaotic road continuing onward, it was not worth risking going farther, despite our raised motorhome. Quiet night, and a visit from a not-very-wild fox.

Attention: sufficient ground clearance is necessary. Five stars because the place is simply fantastic. There are even more beautiful spots along the approach. To be clear, I did not sleep there; if I had had a 4x4, I would have done so immediately. The road to the spot is somewhat eroded, but once there it is super quiet and comfortable.
The place is spectacular, very peaceful, with great views, but if your car or van is not a 4x4, you are stuck. It is impossible to get out; the fire brigade had to pull us out. So only go there if you have a 4x4.
We were here over New Year's Eve. Very isolated, but with a great view of the mountain and valley. Not recommended without a 4x4.
