Serre Meyrand, 05560, Vars
Been here?
Communal parking beside the Napoleon refuge in the mountains near the Col de Vars, in a natural setting with lake views. It becomes very quiet from about 18h, with only communal bins and no other services. The surface can be flat when empty, and the location suits vans and small motorhomes without encroaching.

There was no space at the Col de Vars, so I came down here. I asked the owners of the Refuge Napoléon for permission. Their response was: no problem, it is a municipal parking area, so you can stay. It was very hot, so I went back up to the pass to look, and luckily a space had just become available. Even better, at the very end.Translating
Very quiet little parking area after 6 p.m. To thank the owners of the Refuge Napoléon, we had dinner in their restaurant. Excellent menu, reasonable prices and charming staff. No services, only communal bins. Please respect this place.Translating
The view is magnificent. It is parking along the road, but still quiet. Based on the photos, we thought we would arrive at a small village square, but it is actually in the countryside—there are only two small houses.Translating
Very quiet night, with very little passing traffic, only the sound of cowbells from the grazing cattle. We were able to park level because nobody else was there. View of the lake, birds and marmots.Translating
