Mountain parking, lake views

There was no space at the Col de Vars, so I came down here. I asked the owners of the Refuge Napoléon for permission. Their response was: no problem, it is a municipal parking area, so you can stay. It was very hot, so I went back up to the pass to look, and luckily a space had just become available. Even better, at the very end.✦Translating

Very quiet little parking area after 6 p.m. To thank the owners of the Refuge Napoléon, we had dinner in their restaurant. Excellent menu, reasonable prices and charming staff. No services, only communal bins. Please respect this place.✦Translating

The view is magnificent. It is parking along the road, but still quiet. Based on the photos, we thought we would arrive at a small village square, but it is actually in the countryside—there are only two small houses.✦Translating
