19 Via Darbedo, 28822, Cannobio
Been here?
This free car park is a practical overnight stop within walking distance of the town and lakeside promenade. The spaces are short, making it difficult for campervans over 6m, and the area can be noisy at night. There are no camper facilities.

Free parking. A little noisy at night, but useful in a pinch. Spaces are fairly short. Rather complicated for motorhomes over six metres.
I can only recommend this spot for small vehicles. Our 6.4-metre panel van extended beyond the parking area, as did a vehicle beside us, and it received a €29.40 parking ticket the next morning. Otherwise, it is completely adequate for one night.
Difficult to find a space in the evening with a 7.5-metre vehicle at the end of August, but the parking area is quiet at night. An acceptable solution.
We spent one night here in our van. Several cars came and went at night and in the morning, but it is free. The parking spaces are lit at night and we felt safe.
Great place for an overnight stay. We arrived at 7:30 p.m. without any problem, but it was crowded in the morning. Calm at night and within walking distance of the town.
We got lucky. Arrived about 5.30pm and waited. Only a couple of places we could fit being 6.5m plus bikes. Stayed for 3N. Toilets in bar across the road near the supermarket which facilitates the campsite and on the public path by the river. 10 minutes to the promenade. Gorgeous town. Loads of bars and restaurants. Please use one space. It is a free public car park.
Nice free spot, it is just a car park with a couple of small bins. A short walk to the main promenade. Another couple of campers parked up overnight, one taking up four spaces so please be considerate ☺️
The police sent us away, even though the parking area was almost empty, saying: “Campervans prohibited.”
Great parking area, with a lovely walk along the river. Toilets are in front of the supermarket, and there are really inexpensive good pizzas nearby.
We spent 3 nights here, in February. Very quiet during the night (week days and weekends). Really close to everything, restaurants, stores, the lake. The pizza place next door, Nello, makes delicious pizzas during weekend nights. No facilities in this parking lot, but it's safe and it's free.
We stayed for two nights. At first we felt a little uneasy, but then it was completely fine. Toilets are available at the supermarket.
Still okay for vans, but vehicles over five metres need two parking spaces, which the residents are not happy about. We moved on.
A little noisy and slightly sloped, but we were able to sleep. Pleasant parking area for one night because it is very close to the centre and the village is truly beautiful and worth discovering. We were two vans and one motorhome. Many cars, as residents also park there, understandably.
We stayed here for two nights without problems. The space by the thick concrete posts is deeper, so it is suitable for longer vehicles. Via the path beside the campsite across the road, cross at the bridge and take the stairs down to Lake Maggiore, where you can sit and swim.
Quiet and free parking for spending the night. Not very far from Cannobio on foot.
The road is quite busy until 11 p.m. and from 6 a.m., including noisy motorbikes. At 8 a.m. it became very loud again when a supermarket delivery arrived. The parking spaces are rather small, so a motorhome has to occupy two.
Perfect for one night, considering that all the campsites around are full! We arrived quite late (10:30 p.m.) and there were still three or four spaces left. Some cars passed by, but it was fine.
Good, quiet, and clean parking area. For vehicles up to a maximum length of six metres.
