Unnamed Road, 44460, Sarrión
Been here?
A large, quiet picnic area beside the Santa Cruz hermitage, shaded by holm oaks and equipped with tables, covered barbecues and a fountain. Overnight stays are allowed, and recent visitors describe peaceful nights with plenty of space. Access follows an unpaved road of a couple of kilometres, which can become impassable after rain; the well water may taste slightly brackish.

It lives up to the description, but is even better than I expected. There is shade from the holm oaks for shelter in summer. We spent a very quiet night, practically alone, as it was just us and a 4x4 in the distance because the place is very large. If it has not rained, access is very easy even with a large motorhome. We will return.
Shady spot with a stone fountain, tables, and covered little shelters where you can eat. This place is excellent because you can shelter from the sun and it is completely peaceful. We would definitely return.
We sheltered from the heatwave under the trees. There is a fountain, barbecue facilities, and tables under the trees. More tables are in a masonry enclosure, which was nice and cool.
After rain, the road is full and you can't get in.
Picnic area among holm oaks. Access is via an unpaved road a couple of kilometres long, but it is in good condition. There are barbecue grills and a fountain. We went and were alone.
The road was closed and we could not access it.
Top spot for a quiet overnight stay. Depending on the wind direction, you could hear the motorway, but it did not bother us. The site is huge. We were alone here today. Drinking water from the well tastes slightly brackish, probably because it is rarely used.
Very nice, wild, and quiet. Ideal for a picnic.
A good place for a stop along the way, with several covered barbecue grills. We only stopped to eat, but it is a quiet place to sleep and the stars must be amazing.
An amazing view and absolute peace and quiet. Perfect for one night. The place is really great and full of charm among the olive trees. We were three vans, but there was no overlooking; it is large enough for everyone to have privacy.
Very good place with a covered area for barbecues and tables for eating, water, rubbish bins, and plenty of space. Very spacious and quiet.
Beautiful, scenic, and quiet place. Good access to the Via Verde.
You can hear the road in the background and there are shepherds nearby, but it is an ideal place to spend a night or have a picnic during the day.
Very pleasant spot. Access is a little complicated because the road is stony. You can hear the road a little, but it is not bothersome.
We slept well. You can hear trucks passing on the road, but they are not disruptive. There are level places to sleep comfortably. A water fountain and holm oaks are nearby. There are stone tables and benches for eating. It has a rubbish container.
Good place to spend the night. The motorway is nearby but practically inaudible at night. Be aware that there are quite a lot of flies in summer. There is an animal farm nearby.
Lunch break in the shade. Water from the fountain. Large outdoor tables and some under a shelter. Barbecues on site. Quiet and relaxing. The unpaved road is easily passable at low speed. Many flies came into the vehicle during our break, so close your doors. On the other hand, not a single one came to share the picnic. Thankfully.
Lots of space. Fountain with water, tables, and barbecues.
