Been here?
Quiet, compact campsite directly beside the Saale reservoir, with attractive waterfront views and good access for walking and bathing. Facilities are simple but clean, and the site offers a playground, bread service, boat rental, and an on-site restaurant. The shower meter continues charging even when water is not running.

The campsite is cozy and quiet, with little going on, so you can enjoy the peace! It is worth renting a boat to observe huge trout. The sanitary facilities are basic and clean. Unfortunately, the shower keeps charging even when the water is not running. That is not acceptable! The on-site “restaurant” is nothing special!
We stayed here on Friday while passing through toward Bavaria. Direct view of the Saale, lovely, cozy, and manageable. We cannot really recommend the restaurant, nor the mini-golf. The mini-golf is showing its age, and the restaurant only served fried schnitzel. The playground is great, and you can take a wonderful walk along the Saale.
We stayed in the front row. We found it expensive: €50 for two adults and three children. Showers cost extra but are reasonably priced—60 cents for three minutes. There is a bread-roll service, playground, boat rental, and an on-site restaurant. Wastewater currently can only be emptied using a hose, which did not work for us. The service station for gray water and toilet emptying is under construction.
Very beautiful, idyllic site. With a van, you can still get a front-row spot by the lake, which is a highlight—clear water with many little bays. We recommend a pedal-boat trip. The toilets and showers are perfectly fine, and the shower payment is fair (5 cents per 15 seconds). Highly recommended!
I cannot agree with the previous review. The site is very beautiful, with friendly people. The sanitary facilities are accessible with a chip card, clean, and modern. Dogs are also no problem if you follow the rules. There is a restaurant on site, and breakfast is offered. Good value for money.
Very nicely located... The sanitary facilities are somewhat old, but the reception staff are pleasant and friendly.
For one night with a motorhome, two people, a dog, electricity (€0.80/kWh), nearly cold showers, a non-functioning towel dryer, and four bread rolls, we paid €46.19. Definitely too much for what is offered.
Unfortunately, there are very few shaded spaces. The standard pitches are all on a grass field without trees or shade. In midsummer this can become uncomfortable. Otherwise, the campsite is quite nice, and the location is excellent for hiking and swimming!
We have now been here three times—the location is simply wonderful, directly on the Saale. The rest is good but needs a little more attention; as everywhere, there is just a staff shortage. The price is high, but the region deserves the support. The pitches are large, the staff and long-term campers are friendly, and the location is simply fantastic for hiking.
