The place is really dirty. Lots of cars and everyone using the picnic tables non stop. Bird feathers, napkins and all sorts of things in the grass. The public toilet over used and disgusting.
It applies to motorhomes from 22:00 to 05:00. Free of charge.
Public area, free during the day.
Perfect parking area for visiting Hallstatt. There is a bus stop that takes you to the village (544 or 543) and runs every hour; the price is a little high (€3.50), but considering the alternatives… the only authorized parking is a campsite that looks like a dump and charges €25 for 3 hours! It is a rip-off and a disgrace. The village is incredible, but it makes you want to drive straight past. No overnight stays!
Perfect for staying by the lake. Quite busy even outside the high season! Small snack bar, coffee machine, toilets, rubbish bins, picnic tables...
Magnificent place during the day, but overnight stays are prohibited from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Overnight stay for Wohnmobile is not allowed.
Great place to rest. A couple of caravans stayed here overnight as well. There’s a toilet, a small shop, and water available.
Parking allowed, well located for a stopover in Hallstatt. The toilets are unreliable.
Pretty close to the road, but a perfect spot with instant access to the water. The toilets aren’t immaculate, but they fit their purpose.
We are touring several countries on a budget. We arrived at 8 p.m.; there were plenty of free spaces. There are two bathrooms, benches on the grass, and an outdoor shower. But above all—BEAUTIFUL VIEWS!!! Lake, mountains, forests; I am delighted. Fair price—free, 10/10.
Beautiful place with toilets and changing rooms. There is a shower but it’s outside. The road wasn’t that noisy. There are many benches where you can eat or sit on a grass. We didn’t have problem with parking, there were a lot of spaces.
Beautiful view. Public bathing area. Toilet.
Beautiful view and swimming, lots of people, but peaceful despite that. Toilets dirty, but better than nothing.
Good place to sleep. Lots of people in season, but manageable. There is also an outdoor shower and a regular toilet.
Beautiful view. Everything is free. Outdoor shower and toilets. However right next to the main road, so its quite noisy. Toilets were extremely dirty and the whole space it's quite polluted. It's free and allright, however there are better places in this area for a few euros.
Ideal parking for visiting Hallstatt. You have two options: by bus (544 in front of the toilets, €3.50 per adult) or walking via the Nordalweg (4.5 km, but note that you have to walk 800 m along the road at the beginning and a good level of fitness is needed for some sections). No height barrier observed from either side of the road. The mountain side is more suitable for motorhomes. Parking prohibited in the evening.
Very nice, but a bit noisy place.
Beware of the swans, which demand food by practically walking between the motorhomes ;)
Beautiful place, outdoor shower by the lake, free toilets, benches to sit on, and free parking. What more could you want?
Crisyoscar, you should check your information! As with the previous parking area, you are mistaken. THERE IS NO BARRIER here, just a free day-use parking area—with camping prohibited from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
There is a 2.10 m height barrier, making it impossible to bring in a motorhome or van.
Great view. Right by the road. I was irritated by the white vans with men who kept walking around despite the rain.
Very calm and quite place, with public toilet and a "lake owner" swan. :)
Perfect spot for camper vans. The view is great. 1 star because the wc is not clean and there is only one open shower outdoors.
I love this place. I will return here!
10/10 would recommend. Panoramic views of the lake, toilets & rubbish bins. A bit of road noise but it was fine. Would go back again. And free!
We wanted to take a quick shower at the site, but unfortunately there is only an outdoor shower. Otherwise, the place is lovely for spending time by the water.
Everything is perfect except noise. Cause place is very very close to the road. Free water, free clean toilets, good picnic place!
Great spot by the lake. But really too noisy because of the road. There is a bus stop, coffee machine, and picnic tables. No other option in the area.
Fantastic free park up, thank you so much. Travelled all the way from the Isle of Man, to this area which is stunning but the parking & campsites are very expensive specially when you are on a budget. Rather give money to the local man serving food and drinks, makes it so more worth your spends. As you certainly don’t get b&b at campsites for what they charge. Please keep the place clean
Picknick tables, free bathrooms (a bit dirty but working), outside shower (like on a beach), can swim in the lake. Stayed one night in a car. Many other cars were sleeping there too. Parking spots available on both sides of the road, but not all are available for overnight stays (either sleep on the mountain side, or further away from the road on the lake side)
We spent the night here with many others; beautiful access to the water, an outdoor shower, public toilets, and a small shop :).
wc, shower, kiosk, beautiful grass, access to water, tables. Everything one needs. just be careful, the kiosk sometimes closes earlier.
It clearly says on several signs that parking is not allowed for motorhomes between 22 and 05. I really don't understand everyone's comments about this being an amazing place. Day parking yes. Night, no.
