11-43 Quai de la République, 53100, Mayenne
Been here?
A free parking area beside the Mayenne in the town centre, close to the tourist information office and shops. Recent reports describe a quiet, clean night and a free shower, while the public toilet door no longer locks. The parking is very sloped in places, with city lighting and occasional night noise. There are no other services currently mentioned, and the area is convenient for visiting the centre.

Stopped here for free last night no problems clean and tidy no real noise Wonderful free shower and as a previous post said still no lock on the toilet
Shaded parking area with shower and toilet, but the toilet door no longer locks. You can walk into the town center to do some shopping.
We spent one night with another van, parked parallel to the Mayenne using leveling blocks because it is very steep. A little noisy at night and the town lights stay on all night. But for its proximity to the center, it is a good spot. We ate at the restaurant and supported the bakery. Thank you to the town for tolerating us.
Ideal for visiting the city. Perhaps too steep for spending the night. The city has quite a lot to offer; the tourist office has a walking-tour map. The friendly lady spoke perfect English. We ate very well at Brasserie La Taverne.
Sloped, suitable for a small vehicle and one night.
Quite peaceful. Mayenne is a little jaded and you might struggle to find a good place to eat or drink. Sad really. This side of the river the spaces are on a slope. Looks like a couple of campers went the other side where roadside parking is flat. I can see at least 4. Nice to stop on the way back to Cherbourg, but nothing special.
No possibility of parking, even though Rapido could provide a paid area with all the money generated by their motorhomes. The quay was closed for events; it’s shameful. It is also too steep—you need at least two concrete blocks to level the vehicle. We went elsewhere, to La Fenderie near a pond, and ate at a €20 restaurant. Great. So, Mayenne, enough—what a lousy town.
Ideal location for visiting this small town. We spent the night for the Fête de la Musique. Thank you to the municipality.
Ideal for one night. No services. Thank you to the municipality.
Public toilets open 24/7, unless someone forgets to lock them, so do not rely on the posted hours. Indeed sloped before the bridge. If your vehicle is low enough (3.2 m) to pass under the bridge, you can turn right after exiting; there is a raised section that makes it almost level. A few young people on a Saturday night, generally noisy, but earplugs make it okay. Beside the water.
Road blocked on market day.
Much too steep and a town with no interest.
Spacious parking area, beautiful view. There is a free shower and toilet under the tourist office (door broken).
Free motorhome parking. Shops nearby. Good base for sightseeing. Somewhat steep, with smooth cobblestones. My leveling blocks slipped when driving up. We stayed overnight anyway. Beautiful view of the castle and cathedral.
Stopped off on route to angers, plenty of parking, yes it’s sloped and slippery as cobbles but fantastic location for views and walking around the town. Toilet and shower open under the tourist Info office and water at the boat mooring - do not know if that is all year. Didn’t overnight but looked as though 2 vans had.
