Been here?
Quiet spot off the road near Oppedette village and Gorge de Oppedette. Uneven, sloping terrain—most campers need leveling blocks. Can be muddy after rain. Small village has limited shops. Starting point for popular gorge hikes. Suitable for large vans.

Very good; we spent one quiet night. We were two vans. We walked around the gorge from the parking area. It took us four hours as good hikers; 3 to 3.5 hours for others. You often walk over rocks and climb large stones.
Great big spot designated for vans. Great views and hikes close by. Do not do the steep hike with a dog or kid, you have to climb and walk up ladders
Roadside, not level despite being reserved for motorhomes. Close to the gorge and village. If you get the chance, stop at “La Planche à Pain” on the village square for something to eat.
Very beautiful, quiet spot on a lightly traveled road in front of the pretty village of Oppedette. Unfortunately, there are no shops or bakery. The gorge is a hidden gem and the challenging circular hike is fantastic!
A very sloped, muddy spot (naturally due to the weather) by the road, nothing like the car park at the gorge where you used to be able to park. Really just a token gesture by the municipality—no thanks.
What a lovely spot. With a lot of luck, you can find a level pitch; otherwise, you need leveling blocks. Now, outside the season, there is no problem because nobody is here except us. Excellent starting point for the gorge, and you get a quiet night.
The camper location is just an uneven field. The village is small, but the canyon is truly magnificent.
Does the job; perfect for sleeping. There are even toilets a few meters away, as well as bins. Slightly sloped but acceptable. A crossroads for several hikes.
We only stopped to eat after buying our supplies from Céline’s Little Grocery (the red mobile shop). The ground is more or less level.
Beautiful place to spend the night. Close to the Gorge de l’Oppedette, where you can take wonderful walks.
Parking closed for construction work as of May 2, 2025.
There is a very nice spot 100 m south, at the start of the parking area by the lookout.
Very good, well-located parking area, unfortunately occupied by construction equipment and materials. The other parking areas are either prohibited for motorhomes or too small to avoid obstructing motorists.
Area currently closed due to construction.
Great spot, very quiet and close to the canyon. We were able to enjoy some wonderful hikes!
A truly peaceful, wild spot specially suited to motorhomes. Free, with no services. Beware: very few level spaces; leveling blocks are essential. Recycling bins are 10 m away, the small village is 50 m away, and there is a breathtaking view over the gorges five minutes on foot. Very quiet at night, with no passing traffic.
Beautiful parking area! There is a clean public toilet below the town hall, about a one-minute walk away. We felt safe. Unfortunately, the small restaurant in the village was closed when we were there :(
Very quiet. Nice grassy area with plenty of spaces. Many thanks, therefore, to the motorhome that parked next to us in parking mode, blocking the sun for the rest of the day at the same time…
Very easy to access. Toilets, which are very clean, are 100 m away. The ground is not perfectly level but more than acceptable. We spent the night alone. Very quiet. Large meadow, ideal with a dog. The village is nearby and beautiful, and the gorge trail starts just two steps away. We will return.
