Rua Luís de Camões, 2480, São Bento
Been here?
This is a free, quiet motorhome area above the town, with 6 individual bays and drainage at each place. Water and grey-water disposal are available, but electricity has repeatedly been reported as not working. The area is surrounded by olive plantations and rural walking routes, with a slight slope and well-maintained access roads.

Surprisingly, this area is in the middle of olive groves. It is peaceful; we took a lovely walk with our dog. We will empty the tanks and fill up with water before leaving tomorrow.Translating
We were here on 11 April 2026. A beautiful location for walking. Everything was available, but unfortunately the electricity did not work.Translating
Very quiet area, friendly village and superb scenery. We arrived and joined an 11 km hike with a meal included—a king's feast. The organizer, who runs the sports club, is very friendly and is considering taking care of the area, as the services exist but are not yet operational. Thanks to the municipality for the welcome!Translating
Access via well-maintained roads (Google Maps or Waze). Super-quiet area day and night. The water tap, flush with the ground at the pitches, is not very reassuring. Hiking trails available. Thanks to the municipality for making this place available.Translating
An area with all the facilities. Electricity was not switched on, and we did not need it either. The surroundings are arid, with paths bordered by stone walls. If there had been marked routes, we would have stayed longer. In any case, thank you to the parish.Translating
Supper quiet spot. There is a slight, barely noticeable slope. Spent four nights there during the new Years Eve - barely saw a single person. And almost no fireworks, which is what I was looking for. There are several hiking routes through the pastures and along the hills. Electricity didn't work and there are no trash bins around (small trash can doesn't count as it gets full extremely fast)
It would be difficult to find a quieter place in this peaceful site in the heart of rural Portugal. It would be perfect if the electricity worked... For the water, bring an adapter to connect to the taps.Translating
Lovely and quiet; I even had a little romantic encounter with the neighbor next door.Translating
Great for spending the night. Leveling blocks are essential.Translating
Six pitches, all with individual water. Each pitch has a gray-water drain. Super-quiet night; in the 15 hours we were there, only two cars passed. Fantastic place for one night while passing through.Translating
Quiet, isolated place, peaceful night. Service area working well. It is a shame that the electricity is not switched on.Translating
Very quiet place. Six pitches, each with its own drain, water and electricity (the electricity did not work). Dumping point available. We had a very peaceful night.Translating
Nicely laid out, beautiful and quiet, but all water taps and electricity were shut off. Street lighting was also off.Translating
Services were very good. Location is very remote. Scenic. Good cycling and trekking routes on the plateau.
I recommend it; very quiet at night, with no passing cars. Gray- and black-water disposal available. Individual pitch with water and electricity. Possibility of walking around the area.Translating
Individual pitches own water and waste. Electricity not working. Water has a very small connection so smaller than the normal in Portugal. However there is a separate water supply near the WC emptying that has a normal thread. Beautiful hikes and cycles in the national park. One lone dog barking at night in the distance. Small shop and bar/cafe in the town. Fantastic. Thank you municipality.
Easy access; each pitch has its own waste-disposal area, electricity and water. And best of all, it is free!Translating
We spent a super quiet night alone without any noise and when we woke up we found our vehicle surrounded by sheep! Services are clean and water have a good pressure! Pitches are asphalt and large but few have a slight slope. In the area start an unpaved road surrounded by fields which is very nice to do by foot. Near there is a pic-nic area with a barbeque zone, a sink and a garbage bin.
Very quiet area in the heart of the Serra de Candeeiros massif. Water and electricity available on site.Translating
Beautiful view, but we are experiencing a lot of wind now. The water works, but none of the six electricity points work. What a shame.Translating
Beautiful view, very quiet, a pleasant place to spend the night! Good facilities! Thanks to the community!Translating
Good view, level ground, super peaceful.Translating
A very quiet place, but the electricity service does not work. The water does work, but we needed a small adapter and did not have one... Apart from that, beautiful views and peaceful for one night!Translating
Great place, free, with fresh water, waste disposal and electricity (not tested) at every pitch. Great view and absolutely quiet. Thanks to the municipality for this place. Please keep it clean.Translating
We spent a very peaceful night. It was very windy. The area is very good, but it is beginning to show signs of poor maintenance; discarded car tires are accumulating. Still recommended for overnight stays.
It is a wonderful place, but none of the six electricity points work.
