Lovely view over the field with cows and buttercups. The lay-by is next to the road which was quiet overnight, but busy from 7am, also with some aircraft noise. Great spot for walkers, locals were friendly.
Note: the sign says Monday–Saturday, 9 a.m.–6 p.m., maximum two hours, with no return within four hours. So it is suitable for spending the night, but not for staying during the day or arriving in the afternoon.
Lay by on side of road, some traffic noise but set back far enough it felt safe. Sunrise over the fields with bird song was beautiful. 10 minute walk to Compton Lock for a morning dip. Friendly cows, perfect morning dog walk. Would come again, locals very friendly.
Beautiful spot with nice footpaths, a nearby stream for swimming, friendly locals, and a pub.
Great for a night on the road - others have suggested it can be noisy but we didn’t have major issues. Close to some houses so feels safe even for someone on their own, and great for us to be able to park with two dogs. Took a LWB sprinter with no issues and space for 3/4 cars behind in the morning for dog walkers
Convenient when leaving the ferry late. It is a fairly narrow strip of land along the road, with a few cars in the morning. The view at sunrise is very pleasant, overlooking a lovely field with a distant church tower.
Good location and view across a field. The only issue was road noise and some vehicles passing quickly at night, which woke you up—more than adequate for one night.
Alright for a night - quite some traffic at night although we arrived late. Many dogwalkers in the morning on the lovely adjacent field, lovely river spot in walking distance. Was quite narrow with our Ducato Van.
