11 Donau Bundesstraße, 3652, Weitenegg
Been here?
This is a free daytime parking area beside a playground and a former Danube channel, with a castle view. A current “Camping verboten” sign means overnight stays are not permitted. A tap is at the end of the hedge, and free toilets are in the yellow building behind the volleyball court; a road and nearby businesses are also present.

Camping prohibited sign!! We parked here and had lunch on the meadow below by the river. Beautiful, clean place! Many locals come by to relax or swim.
“Camping prohibited” sign.
Beautiful view of Melk Abbey when going down toward the Danube. But we parked there to sleep, without setting anything up, at around 6 p.m. Thirty minutes later, a local resident came to tell me that camping was not allowed there! Otherwise the police issue fines. So avoid it, unless perhaps arriving very late.
Next to a busy road, but we were not bothered at night. Ideal for cooling off in the Danube. No bread in the village, but there is good ice cream opposite the site.
Wonderful place, magnificent view of the abbey, freely accessible swimming lake. Water and shower; toilet at the beach bar.
Lovely spot between castle ruins and the Danube. Along the road, but very few people pass; we were not bothered and could have breakfast peacefully by the water.
Nice flat parking next to water, park, playground and volleyball pitch. Restaurant on opposite side of the street. water and open air showers available next to yellow cafe building past the volleyball pitch.
Quiet place at night, with lots of children's play equipment. The view of the Danube and the abbey is magnificent!
