Stavanger Camping Mosvangen

We drove there confidently in our camper, but what did we find? Literally every gap on the campsite is filled. We were packed in tightly with many other campers in a place that cannot officially even be called a camper pitch. There was no private space to sit, just the feeling of a parking lot, but at full price! Go there for Stavanger, but certainly not for this campsite.

A beautiful campsite, with an excellent shopping opportunity nearby offering a huge selection, very clean showers and toilets, and a very nice parking attendant from Austria. The city is about 3 km away by bicycle via dedicated cycle paths. Highly recommended.

Very nice campsite by a lake—beware of the seagulls! It is quiet despite the large number of pitches. The sanitary facilities are modern and very clean. The shower water is extremely hot. The city center is a 30-minute walk away.

After reading the reviews, I wanted to form my own opinion. Apart from the very friendly staff and the location, I found nothing positive. We were crammed together, it was incredibly expensive, there was practically no Wi-Fi, and the shower was cold. Charging 8 NOK for washing clothes seems excessive. I was also close to the four-lane main road, about 150 meters away. No recommendation.

Large and crowded campsite. Good location near the city center if you have a bicycle. The toilets and showers managed to cope with so many users, but it is damp and not particularly well planned.

We cannot understand some of the negative reviews. We arrived early and the friendly staff gave us a lovely pitch by the lake. It was the most expensive campsite we have stayed at so far, but that is due to its location near the city center, which is reachable on foot in a good half hour.

How anyone can give this site a five-star rating is a mystery to me. For 550 NOK, you are packed in extremely tightly and share completely undersized sanitary facilities with a huge number of other users—over 140 camping vehicles and many tents today—and have to put up with mold on the shower curtains. The water is sometimes lukewarm and then far too hot.

The site is fine for visiting Stavanger. There is a bus stop right at the campsite, or you can cycle into town. Every centimeter of the site is used to provide pitches for campers. The sanitary facilities have an industrial feel and the showers are unacceptable: a small spray head without temperature control and water that is at most lukewarm.

Great location for the city. You can reach the center quickly by bicycle. The site is filled right up to the last possible spot. That is not the problem, but for this number of people, both the sanitary facilities and the washing-up areas are far too small. There is considerable room for improvement.

We arrived late at this campsite and were accommodated outside. The area was nevertheless equipped, and the facilities were excellent: accessible, convenient, and fully equipped.

Even though this campsite is extremely busy, it deserves credit for existing! The nights are quiet and the facilities are clean and modern. Recommended for a one- or two-night stopover to visit Stavanger and the surrounding area. Bus line 5 stops outside the campsite and takes you to the harbor in ten minutes.

Not recommended. You pay full price for a place that is not even an official pitch. Every gap is filled—even a strip of grass between two rows of campers was filled with seven campers. There was no private space to sit. The showers are cold. The staff is unfriendly.

Right by the lake, close to the city center, with a shop nearby that is also open on Sundays. The sanitary facilities are clean, but the shower is a disaster: it sprays in every direction, so everything gets wet despite the curtain—except you. There is no temperature control and the water is lukewarm. Electricity costs extra, and Wi-Fi is not available everywhere. Conclusion: okay for one night, but too expensive overall.

Very beautiful location; we spontaneously got a pitch directly by the lake at 4 p.m. But there are a huge number of mosquitoes. The city is easy to reach by bicycle. Very friendly service. Good value for money.

What a chaos... every centimeter was used for a camper or tent. We immediately turned around and left the campsite. A mass campsite—run away screaming.

Unfortunately, the value for money is only so-so. The campsite is beautifully located by a lake, and we had no problem getting a pitch when we arrived at 2 p.m. There are plenty of sanitary facilities. However, the showers are more like spray rain than anything else, although they were clean and pleasantly hot. Waste disposal was straightforward. Overall, we simply found it a little too expensive.

We arrived around 11 a.m. and were quickly assigned a pitch. The sanitary facilities are clean and free to use. Stavanger can be reached on foot in just under 40 minutes. The only criticism is that we were near the road, so it was somewhat noisy from early morning.

This was the highlight of our camping trip through Norway. The staff was friendly at all times, and the sanitary facilities were top-notch—above all, clean, with enough showers and toilets. The high price is worth it. You can overlook the pitch directly in front of the sanitary facilities, even though we arrived around 2 p.m.

It is a glorified parking lot; pitches are even rented outside the campsite on vacant land. But everything is tidy, well maintained, and clean. Excellent location—you can cycle to the center in five minutes.

A reservation was not possible despite being told that there is always something available until 4 p.m. We arrived on time with two motorhomes, but everything was already completely full. We were given two places outside and above the campsite, in a gravel yard. Fine just for sleeping, but 450 NOK per night is extremely excessive. At least we could use the very clean sanitary facilities, even though they were at least 300 meters away.

A good place for cycling into the city. The sanitary facilities are clean. There are spray showers, with more air than water coming out. The temperature is regulated and almost a little cold. It is a processing line, with campers parked extremely close together. Wi-Fi is poor. The price is completely excessive at 550 NOK. We were in a parking lot outside the barrier. The staff explains nothing.

Despite paying 50 euros for one night, we were very satisfied. The site was nearly full in mid-June, and we could comfortably walk to Stavanger center and the harbor in the morning, about 30 minutes along a quiet path. The sanitary facilities were very good.

We stayed here for one night. The sanitary facilities were very clean and everything was straightforward. It was quite expensive—we paid 500 NOK for two people in a VW bus without electricity. The 350 NOK shown in the app applies in winter; in high season, a tent pitch costs 350 NOK, while vans and motorhomes start at 500 NOK.

Good site, with everything you need. It could perhaps be a little cheaper. Unfortunately, we were not directly on the main site, which was not a problem. We stayed for two nights to explore Stavanger. You can walk about 3 km or take the bus. Everything was easy! Shops are right around the corner. I would definitely recommend the site.

Nice site and nice staff. Showers and toilets are clean. What was not so great was that the site was very full and we were up by the road. Otherwise, it was perfectly fine. It could be a little cheaper, but it has a monopoly position.

Very large, busy campsite with a high turnover. Very expensive; the prices shown here do not match reality. For one night, I paid 550 NOK for a 5.4-meter van with one passenger.

We were very positively surprised by the site and its location. The sanitary facilities are always clean.

The Wi-Fi did not reach the pitch. The kitchen is clean and functional. Close to the city, with unlimited family showers available on site.

The prices for the washing machine and dryer are outrageous. 80 NOK each per machine.

Very friendly women at reception. A little chaotic—you choose a pitch yourself, and there are no numbers, then return to reception to pay. Power cables are scattered everywhere and you often drive over them. Not particularly attractive, but close to the city. Directly beside the campsite is a swimming pool called Gammlingen with a sauna. Unfortunately, it was closed for maintenance during our stay.

Very practical campsite. Immaculate sanitary facilities and a very warm welcome. Unfortunately, the campsite is a victim of its own success: even outside high season, in June, motorhomes, vans, and other vehicles are literally placed right next to each other. I recommend it for its proximity to Stavanger, but if another campsite offered the same convenience, I would not hesitate to choose it.

Large campsite on the edge of Stavanger. Can walk to the centre and back but we took the bus which was a 2 minute walk away. Campsite got full but there did not seem to be a queue for showers at any point and the facilities were constantly clean. It seems there are staff cleaning the showers all day long. Nice kitchen area. Lots of road noise but expected in a city. Public footpath behind camp.

Everything you need is available: electricity, fresh water, and disposal facilities for gray water and toilets. There are three washing machines and three dryers, which are not cheap at 80 NOK. The showers and toilets are extremely clean thanks to the cleaning staff, who seem to mop every 30 minutes. You can even rent bicycles. Stavanger harbor is about a 30-minute walk away. Very friendly staff.

It is a campsite and parking area crossed by public paths, so you do not really find peace and quiet here. The toilets and shower facilities are new and clean. For visiting the city, an ordinary parking lot is sufficient. Would I come here again? No.

this is a purely functional campsite for visiting Stravanger. facilities are clean and new. you are packed in like sardines though and public footpaths run across the site in front of many pitches.

A very beautiful campsite by a lake in a wooded area. The showers must have been repaired; they were quite hot and free. We walked to the city center to explore the area, and it took exactly 35 minutes. There was also a bus, but we did not use it.

Beautiful pitch by the lake. We arrived relatively late and still got a lovely place. The woman at reception was very nice. The sanitary facilities are large and clean. There is some pedestrian traffic across the site toward the lake, which did not bother us. The site slopes, so you definitely need leveling blocks.

Campsite located less than 30 minutes from Stavanger city center. Quiet, on the edge of a lake. You cannot really hear the nearby road. Contrary to some previous comments, the showers are hot. Very busy during the Pentecost weekend.

Great site with everything you need and an excellent base for exploring the city, which can easily be done by bicycle. One star deducted because public paths run through the campsite.

You can debate the water temperature, but showering is not a problem. The sound of road traffic is very clearly audible. The area for large motorhomes is level and sufficiently spacious. The lakeside area is more suitable for smaller vehicles and slopes downhill; it is also closer to the traffic. The site as a whole is clean, and you can even buy LPG exchange bottles.

Beautiful campsite. Because of Norway's national holiday on May 17, the site was very full. The sanitary facilities were excellent.

Perfect place for visiting Stavanger! The bus to the city stops directly beside the campsite. You can reach the city center on foot in 40 minutes. Beautiful, clean toilet facilities. The closer you are to the lake, the quieter it is.
