2 Stickelsgrabenstraße, 82433, Bad Kohlgrub
Been here?
This is a hiking parking area with firm ground, some fairly level upper spaces and views toward the surrounding area. Clearance is 3m, although 3.2m is also possible, and two public portable toilets are provided; there are no trash cans. Parking costs 7,- for 24h, with opening hours from Monday to Sunday, 00:00 - 24:00. It is very crowded during the day but generally quiet in the evening, with cowbells and birds, and entry and exit use automatic license-plate recognition.

A parking area, nothing more. There is a tariff for campers. For the price in this area, it is excellent. Anyone complaining here should simply go to a campsite!
Great place, very quiet in the evening. Cowbells and birdsong included. No trash bins. I think €7 for 24 hours is fair.
I stayed here for two quiet nights without any problems. If you pay with the EasyPark app, you get €2 refunded at the chairlift when buying a ticket. Otherwise, scan the cable-car ticket at the payment machine to receive the refund.
We do not understand the comment from "Rollerpilot" dated 12 April 2025; there are no prohibition signs anywhere on the site, and there is explicitly a 24-hour ticket for €7. We spent a quiet and undisturbed night.
The parking area is open Monday through Sunday from 00:00 to 24:00.
Overnight stays are definitely prohibited. It is also under video surveillance.
Very few completely level spaces, if any, right at the front. The rest are very sloped. Great view and good food available locally.
At 3.19 m high, we fit comfortably through the height restriction. Keep right when entering. You can pay at the machine, which I recommend. If you pay with EasyPay, it costs €8.05 and you cannot redeem the €2 cable-car voucher. With the cable-car voucher, the night costs only €5. Without the cable car, €7.
€7 for a toilet in a catastrophic condition? Or for the nonexistent trash bins? The pitches are good and relatively level; hiking is possible.
We stayed here for one night during the week. It was very quiet at night; in the morning and late morning you can hear many children because there is a forest kindergarten directly next to the wooded area. The portable toilets were fine, but bring your own toilet paper. The parking area is not level everywhere, but it was so empty at night that we could choose a level spot. We climbed the Hörnle with our dog, which was also great.
We stayed here for two nights over Easter. It was quite full during the day in good weather because it is a hiking parking area, but we still felt comfortable. On the second night we were completely alone because the weather turned bad. Both nights were very quiet. There are some relatively level pitches in the upper area, as well as two portable toilets, which are heavily used but still acceptable. The parking fee of €7 per 24 hours is reasonable. You can pay by card, cash, or online, but only when leaving the site (license-plate recognition by video). The site is an ideal starting point for hikes to the Hörnle; in good weather you can also take the cable car. The trip is worthwhile! There are no trash bins, so please take all your rubbish with you!
Simple, quiet gravel area with a portable toilet. See the new photo or app for the payment process; card or online payment possible, €7 for 24 hours. A nice short hike to the Hörnle and Hörnlehütte is possible. Do not be surprised: the online parking price initially shows €5 after a few minutes (price for 4 hours), then increases to a maximum of €7 for 24 hours.
