A17, NG34 9LU, Sleaford
Been here?
This is a large, flat tarmac lay-by on the A17, set back from the road with trees, grass, picnic tables and many bins. It is suitable for a daytime or overnight stop, but lorry traffic creates significant road noise at night. The cafe is shut, although takeaway food is available, and there are no toilets.

Good for a lunch break. We would not stay overnight here; it is too noisy. Takeaway available.
Nice flat tarmac lay-by set back from the road. Some road noise from lorries during the night. A few other vans around. Lots of bins and a grassy, wooded area for walking dogs, plus picnic benches. There is a small café, but it was not open during our visit.
Flat rest area on A17. a little traffic noise, but OK. Large wide parking area. We were only the van, plus two lorries, plenty of room. Cafe open during day time only, opened around 8am-ish. No toilets. Lots of bins and picnic tables. Good nights sleep, felt safe, no issues
Perfect stay. Off from the road. Cafe open durning the day. Grass area for walking the dog. Clean and safe.
Lay-by set back from road. Few lorries parked overnight. Bins. Good phone signal
Update: the café has reopened, currently Monday to Friday only, and now serves loaded potatoes and pizza specials, offering some variety from the usual. Here for the night now; usual traffic noise, no toilets, small bins. A few lorries in the lay-by. I will update in the morning if anything happens during the night.
Stopped by and updated the site. The toilet block has been removed and the café is closed. Updated pictures show how much it has changed since it was first published.
