Regarding the price: there is an area marked for cars where a van fits without any problem; we slept there, and they charge €3 for the whole day. Enough time to visit the castle and all the village streets with their shops, take a hike, and sleep in a parking area that is almost deserted in the evening, where you can choose among several spots because it stretches in a winding shape. Perfect for visiting the village, and €3 for 24 hours… clean and very, very quiet for sleeping. We arrived in the morning to visit the village, then left in the afternoon to visit the Orgues d'Ille-sur-Têt site (superb). We returned to Castelnou to sleep; the ticket was still valid. The parking fee is €3 for four hours (April 2024); overnight stays cost €15, with no services other than a rubbish container. That said, there are many parking areas and the village is pretty and very touristy. Personally, I visited and enjoyed the village but did not stay overnight.✦Translating
