An incredibly beautiful place to spend the night or make a quick stop. The pine trees provide great shade and smell wonderful. Just keep an eye out when parking, as some of the lower branches might touch your camper.

Really perfect for a break or overnight stay. There is a nice château with drinks inside; it is worth asking for an ice cream or a Coke. The dam is fairly easy to access—not great beaches, but the water is just right. There is a motorhome spot opposite the château. Notice the difference in cleanliness between the car park reserved for motorhomes and the non-motorhome one next door: the motorhome users keep theirs clean, while the other one is horrible.✦Translating

Free community campsite without facilities. Very beautiful location by an azure-blue reservoir where you can swim, with a castle that is free to visit! Bins, lots of shade, flat pitches, and plenty of space. Not too much traffic noise. In June, there are a lot of flies!!! Little shop by the castle until 6:00 p.m. selling water, soft drinks, and ice cream.✦Translating

Magnificent, very clean, orderly and level pine forest for parking and overnight stays. No water or waste-disposal services. In front of the castle there is a water tap on a kind of rock with a 3/4-inch thread that you can use. It says non-potable, but it is fine for the water tank. Civil Guard patrols pass from time to time. Highly recommended.✦Translating

The area is good for overnight stays and for walking or cycling routes through the Ruidera Lakes from the reservoir. We spent one night there, coinciding with the weekend of the Romería of the Virgen de Peñarroya, which we had not anticipated, and it was impossible to sleep because a group of young people had set up a tent with techno music at full volume, without any control by the local police or Civil Guard.✦Translating

Site with capacity for many vehicles. Since it is a motorhome area, you can easily put out tables and chairs. The only place where you can sleep when visiting the lakes. The first one is 15 minutes away. No services, but there is a non-potable water tap at the castle and bins at the entrance. Large area with plenty of capacity for campers and caravans. Clean and well maintained. Grass surface and plenty of shade. We stayed one night and it was very good. There are swimming areas and hiking routes nearby, highly recommended. It must be fantastic in summer!✦Translating

Beautiful place for the night, under trees. No other facilities. Across the road, you can walk straight to the castle with its magnificent view over the reservoir. At the information centre we were allowed to use the toilet and shower.

It is appreciated that land has been set aside for an area. It is honestly not bad, with the basics. Very dusty in the dry season; people have already commented extensively on the flies.

Beautiful place but far too many flies. I left the vehicle open for 10 minutes and 200 flies got inside. Unbearable!

SEPTEMBER - check the dates. enormous local festival on 2nd Saturday. impossible to park. very quiet night with little passing traffic. worst infestation of flies we have found in La Mancha ( where flies are everwhere). impossible to be outside. outside of fly season, it would be a great place to pass a couple of nights. small shop in Castle for water, ice cream, pop etc

Beautiful spot, flat and shady and full of birds singing and a few cats by the castle! I was the only one here! The only water I could find was by the castle and I thought (a very faded sign) said “non potable” so I’d come prepared for no water, but it’s a great spot. Lovely castle on top and great views of the top reservoir of the Ruidera water “series”

Very good area, quiet night, many motorhomes and some campers. Pleasant walk to the castle with beautiful views. On the way toward Barcelona, we diverted 10 minutes from the route, but it is worth spending the night among the pine trees.

Perfect place. We spent one night on the way to the Ruidera Lakes. Quiet with lots of space, areas for hiking and mountain biking, and the castle is worth visiting. Water is available only at the castle, but it is worth it.

Spacious pitches among pine trees, very close to the castle and reservoir. Bins nearby. Interestingly, a fox approached us at dusk, presumably looking for food. A very peaceful night with a beautiful sunset. There were only three vans in the entire parking area.
