A large gravel parking lot beside the road near the port and airport, with views of the fjord and the main harbour. Sunrise and sunset can be watched here, and satellite reception is possible. Recent reports describe quiet nights with infrequent traffic, although older reports mention heavy road noise, aircraft and a running truck engine. A tanker may obstruct part of the fjord view.

Parking by the road next to the harbour, near the airport. It is the polar day, and we fell asleep from exhaustion at 9 p.m. Our alarm woke us at 6. I am a light sleeper. It was quiet at night; even the terns were sleeping. Cars do not pass very often. After reading the reviews, I hesitated, but it was empty and that encouraged me. Along the way, it was camper after camper. No facilities. Flat terrain.

Not beautiful. You look directly at a tanker and only behind it at the fjord. It is directly beside the road, so it is not attractive either.
Very noisy, for those who don't mind noise
There are a lot nicer and probably quieter places to stay just before Alta on the E6. Yes the view across the fjord was quite nice, and watching dolphins (I think they were dolphins) in the fjord late at night. But there was a lot of road traffic, till around 3am with booming music playing. There is a supermarket just down the road, which is handy. But I wouldn’t stay here again.
The view toward the fjord is beautiful... that's all. The site is somewhat sloped and directly beside a fairly busy road. A truck was parked opposite and kept running its engine. Our night was noisy. I'm sorry we didn't drive on immediately. Never again.
