Dam parking, quiet nights

Spent one night up there at the end of September. Cool but away from the noise. Great.✦Translating

Best spot, beautiful and a perfect starting point for hiking. We would have liked to stay longer :) We also really enjoyed the fresh water in front of the station. Please keep the place clean and do not relieve yourselves in nature, leaving feces and toilet paper behind; that is neither nice nor respectful toward nature.✦Translating

Large, flat, quiet, free gravel parking lot. No services, but perfect for starting a hike the next day. However, a major complaint about those in California-style vans whom we see disappearing into the bushes with toilet paper… Buy yourselves portable toilets and stop treating nature like an open-air toilet… The area around the parking lot is covered in crap.✦Translating

Great that there are free places like this! Wonderful hikes can be started from here. The guided tour of the dam is recommended. There is a public toilet at the gondola station, as well as fresh drinking water.✦Translating

Lots of space; we spent one night with a few vans around us. The place was clean, with a view of the dam, quiet, and we were not disturbed at all. The parking lot is partly used by hikers from early morning.✦Translating

Magnificent place to stop; please respect it. Beautiful landscapes and walks, as well as visits to the dam at certain times. Arrive early or at the end of the day to be sure of finding a space, as this place is very popular in summer. The night is very quiet.✦Translating

We spent one night in the large parking lot; a few vans were present. Very quiet, with an incredible view of the waterfall, valley, and dam. Very clean toilets and drinking water are available at the cable-car station a little higher up. A good starting point for hiking to the dam.✦Translating

I am completely alone in this large parking lot. In front of me is Grande Dixence; behind me is the view down the valley toward the Rhône Valley and beyond to the opposite Alpine range. There is plenty to do here.✦Translating

Nice view down the valley and the dam is definitely worth a visit. Human engineering at its greatest. No services but there maybe a toilet in the gondola station. Quite a bit of traffic coming and going during the day but very quiet at night.

We stayed here for one night and were alone. There is plenty of space, around 20 pitches. There are no toilets. The gravity dam is enormous and very impressive.✦Translating

We parked just to visit the dam and have a picnic, but it is possible to sleep there, with a superb view of the mountains.✦Translating

Very quiet except for the strong gusts of wind we had last night, which made the van move. Do not leave anything outside overnight. Free, with no amenities. You have to go up to the cable-car station to find toilets and a water fountain.✦Translating
