Woodland parking, overnight ban

Arrived at 6pm in the dark and within 5 mins asked to move on from a ranger from Falkland Estate. Ended up staying at Pillars of Hercules Organic Farm for £12. Went for a walk the following morning and noticed there is a sign with no overnight parking!

Quiet place on the edge of the forest, somewhat set back from the road. Flat and very clean spaces. I really recommend it for one night. It is a 20-minute walk through the forest to the town centre.

Very good. Quiet night in a peaceful setting. A few dog walkers late in the evening and early in the morning.

Very nice place. The parking area on the edge of the forest can be used overnight; there is no prohibition here. Very nice café and shop with organic food. Camping area for cyclists and car campers, with pitches for campervans up to 6 m. Clean facilities with toilet, shower, waste and recycling bins, and a washing-up area. Recommended!

There are three parking areas. Two are prohibited at night, but there is no indication for the third one by the forest. It is slightly set back from the road, which limits the noise. A little farther on, there is a farm and café that also offers camping with toilets.

Since this area was developed last year, there are now three car parks: the original one and two new areas. We normally stay at the Duckpond, but signs now prohibit overnight stays, so we drove around to this one. It was very quiet and dark overnight, and the road was quiet too. Traffic increased in the morning with dog walkers, but everything was fine. There is a huge forest to explore by bike and on foot.

Great night in the additional overflow parking at the end of the driveway past the café. We were alone and undisturbed. A contribution of £2–3 is suggested, with a box at the entrance. Although the ground is flat, it is only grass, so I would avoid it after heavy rain. A good walk on the Lomond Hills via Maspie Den starts here.
