Nice little campsite. There are enough electrical hookups. A few gnats may join you at your table, but apparently they are not part of the staff. The toilets and showers are relatively clean, and hot water is not unlimited. The little extra: a drying rack is available for wet clothes or towels.

Campsite with a beautiful view near Thingvellir Park. Many geese and birds roam the area, which is great! The price includes access to showers and toilets. There is no kitchen. You can park there earlier to avoid paying for the other car parks (30 minutes’ walk).

Basic campsite... 4,000 ISK for two people and a camper. Shower and toilet included. Washing up is done in the former washing-machine room. Unfortunately, it is somewhat dirty there. Overall, okay for one night. The view is great.

I can only agree with the previous reviewer. They are lined up along the road like pearls on a string. The waste-disposal facilities are at one of the southern sites belonging to the area. At the moment, only toilet emptying is possible, on foot 200 metres away, and grey-water disposal is not available at all. There is no information about this at reception, yet the full price is charged! However, the night was completely quiet.

All areas are closed, and the motorhomes are packed closely together along the access road. They presumably are concerned that driving onto the meadow would damage it because of the rain. Conclusion: not recommended in rainy weather. There is no waste disposal either. Unfortunately, in May this is the only open motorhome site in the national park.

Good and also cheap place if you want to stay in the national park.

Beautiful view of the mountain. Two very clean showers, perhaps a little insufficient when it is busy. Since we get up early, we did not have to wait. Four toilets. We were able to get electricity. Water is provided through reception. A small shop next door has food available. A few geese add to the scenery. We recommend this place.

Very clean and welcoming. Two showers, two toilets. You can pay the next day if you arrive late. At 9 a.m., a café opens. Breakfast and other food are available. I recommend it.

Beautifully located campsite directly in the nature reserve. From here, many great sightseeing trips and hikes can be started. At the attached information centre, you are greeted in a friendly manner.

11/04/26. A well placed site for walking and hiking to the main attractions. Helpful staff at reception. Clean although basic private showers and toilets (heated and plenty of hot water). Site is exposed to wind (we had a brutal night in very strong winds!). Price is good too (3100 for 2 but this included me and I am old so get a little discount).

Recommended. In winter, you can only park in a small area because everywhere else is covered in ice. Several toilets and showers, all clean. There is a kiosk.

We arrived after the reception had closed, but that didn’t prevent us from staying overnight!! We were able to use the hot showers and bathrooms, which were clean and equipped with electrical outlets. We paid at reception the following morning. There is even a bar and a souvenir shop.

Good campsite for late September, even though the facilities are reduced. Showers are a little far away and not numerous enough when it is busy. A pleasant welcome from the reserve ranger.

Worst campsite we stayed at in Iceland! They offer nothing. When we asked where to fill the motorhome with water, they even asked whether we were sure we wanted to, since they had little water. What do I care? It is the minimum level of facilities expected... And it is not cheap either.

Clean campsite, not too crowded. The only negative point: cold showers. Did I just have bad luck?

Good, clean campsite with heated toilets and hot showers. We did have a lot of trouble with small flies.

The campsite is currently closed. It is also not possible to stay overnight in the information-centre car park. You have to use the other campsite, on the left towards Selfoss, without electricity.

It is possible to park overnight in the visitor-centre car park for 2,000 ISK per person, including toilets and showers. It is clean. If you pay for the night, you can remain parked during the day without paying again for the Þingvellir car park. Free water refill; ask at reception. Electricity costs extra, with a few hookups available. Practical for one night but not charming.

“Open all year” — not really. There is no access to electricity in winter.

Spectacular parking area. Price around €13 per person, including a bathroom and hot shower. There is also a picnic area and outdoor sinks for summer. In winter, there is an indoor sink with coin-operated washing machine and dryer. There is only one electrical hookup, also used for charging electric vehicles. Beautiful parking area; you can see the northern lights all night.

Outdoor parking at the park shop, with no pretensions and no services other than very functional toilets. We did not use the showers; the dishwashing area was closed because of freezing temperatures. There were about four vans. Spectacular for viewing the northern lights.

A campsite that charges you without allowing you to use any services; the only thing you could do was shower. Everything is muddy and you cannot drive in. If you arrive late, they leave a little note for you to pay early the next morning. You could not enter and had to stay outside. Excursion area for viewing the northern lights at night.

The site’s main advantage is its location near the attractions in this region. The site itself is standard, with enough pitches but too few showers. Depending on the circumstances, the sanitary facilities may be a long way away. We were glad that we arrived early and that the weather was good. That allowed us to enjoy the site!

Good place to visit the park. It has good sanitary facilities (showers, toilets, and kitchen), but in April the entire grassy camping area was unusable for campers. You can only camp in the car park in front of the information office.

All needed services were available. Sanitary facilities clean and decent.

One of the best in Iceland. I stayed here a total of 18 nights on my trip. The rangers at the visitor centre are knowledgeable of all trails and local area. the facilities are cleaned daily. Showers are free and nice and hot. All facilities included! My favourite place, I will miss it.

Beautiful spot in the middle of the national park. However, because of the weather, we could not drive onto the meadow. We were allowed to park our camper in the car park in front and sleep there.
