Beach parking, campsite noise

There are seven longer spaces for motorhomes here, roughly in the middle of the parking area at the height of the old pedestrian crossing. There are two spaces by the crossing and theoretically another five separately beside them. In reality, there is only room for four motorhomes. We were alone in early October. Free from September 30. I drove here and had breakfast in a small van, I had my side door open and was sitting inside on my phone with my back door open also The came police told me I must shut all doors otherwise I am camping which is prohibited. So every door must be shut, I can’t even sit at the open side door (inside the van!) otherwise it is camping.
