Parking at the Stora Salen nature reserve offers magnificent views over Lake Vänern and access to hiking trails. The ground is very uneven and steep, and it is suitable for vehicles under 7m. There are no facilities, but picnic tables are available.

Very steep parking area. Suitable for vehicles under 7 m. A good starting point for a short or long hike on Kinnekulle.
We were at this place; there are hiking trails, that is true, but sleeping is only possible on very uneven ground, so we drove on.
Nice place to spend the night. During the day, some cars arrive belonging to people who go hiking. From here you can easily walk to the lookout tower, the memorial to the plane crash in which 11 Norwegians died, and the Andres excavation. You can also find nice walks here via the AllTrails app. The hikes listed on the sign at the tower are all multi-day hikes. On AllTrails you can find shorter routes that follow part of the long trails.
Nice spot for the night if it rains and everything is red and mudd in the old stenbrot
