Camping Le Pavillon Royal

We spent a few nights here and were satisfied overall. There were many families with children, and our pitch was right next to the entertainment area, so it was quite noisy, but not too bad. The sanitary facilities were thoroughly cleaned in the morning. The beach is beautiful, with views of the Pyrenees. Biarritz was quickly reachable by bike.

The campsite is on a wonderful beach. The welcome was friendly, and changing pitches was no problem. We had not reserved. We found the pitches rather neglected, and ours was also unkempt. The showers and toilets were not clean either. Five stars is an exaggeration, and in our view the site is too expensive. Because of the location and wonderful sunsets, we would come back.

We stayed for three nights: two people and a motorhome, €164—very expensive. The location and pitches are excellent; we had a shady pitch. Everything else, from the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities to the mediocre friendliness at check-in, is absolutely not worth five stars in our view. We know better in this category. Showers and toilets were very dirty. At this price, we expect cleanliness.

There were a few shortcomings this time; we were here in September before. The price is too high for the off-season. Unfortunately, fewer showers and toilets are open, so they are not always completely clean. The dishwashing area smells of urine from the chemical toilets. The welcome was only moderately friendly. It is somewhat annoying that the toilets and showers are completely separate. On the other hand, the location is excellent, Bidart is very lovely, and it is close to Biarritz and a great beach and bay.

Good campsite near Biarritz. Friendly welcome, shop, restaurant, cleanliness, and beach—everything is excellent. The pitches at the back are quite steep, making leveling more difficult. The surface there is often dusty rather than grassy. We were there at the end of May. There were many young German families with small children, so it was noisy until after 10:30 p.m. We left a little earlier because of it.

Classic four-star-plus campsite for travelers without dogs. The sanitary facilities are spotless and always clean. There is a supermarket, swimming pool, and restaurant on site. No usual animation fuss or loud parties and music. Pitches range from small to large, with or without hedges and shade, depending on preference. Beach access for surfers or relaxing is via a card. Biarritz is easily reached by bus, bicycle, or moped.

Very nice campsite with good beach access. We stayed for two nights, but unfortunately the weather was not very cooperative. The toilets and showers were very clean and good. Waste and chemical-toilet disposal are far away if you have a pitch toward the beach.

Excellent campsite with shady pitches and pitches overlooking the sea. Separate, exceptionally clean shower and toilet buildings, with water at the pitch. Almost private beach access in a beautiful bay. Fifteen to twenty minutes by bike to Biarritz, less to Bidart, and five minutes to Intermarché. Pool and restaurant; in high summer there is apparently entertainment and a program. The pitches are a good size. Dogs are not allowed!

Expensive—we paid €53 for two people in the absolute off-season. There seem to be hardly any toilets; everywhere smells of urine. The pitches are quite small and somewhat uneven, with only a few offering sea views.

A magnificent campsite. Beach access by card, heated pool, family-friendly and respectful atmosphere. A ten out of ten!

Beautiful pool area; showers and toilets are separate, which is somewhat inconvenient with children. Cycling to Biarritz is easy and quite manageable.

Perfectly located campsite, with ocean access (a card is required; allow €20 cash deposit) and a magnificent pool. The guests are mainly German and English. The restaurant is very good and the staff are lovely. Four washing machines (€5) and three dryers (€4). The sanitary facilities are cleaned twice, although hygiene is sometimes mediocre. A grocery shop with plenty of choice.

Very well-located campsite: beach access, ideal for surfing, and a bus stop two minutes away for visiting the surrounding area. Convenient mini-market, pleasant restaurant, superb and well-maintained pool. Some pitches have magnificent sea views. Quiet, clean, and well equipped—an excellent choice for a family or friends’ holiday combining relaxation and nature.

Good bus connections. Beach access. Showers and toilets in separate buildings. A €20 cash deposit is required for the access card. Strange pitch allocation: with a 6-meter panel van, we were given a pitch with a very narrow entrance in a tight cul-de-sac. Half the campsite was empty, but we were not allowed to change pitches. Small vans were placed directly along the main road, where parking would have been easy. Expensive.

Very good campsite right by the sea. Large grounds with private access to the ocean. Super-clean, modern sanitary facilities. Water directly at the pitch. Small supermarket, daily activities program, and massage service. At low tide, you can walk along the beach to Biarritz, about 45 minutes. Highly recommended!

Highly recommended. Fast check-in because we had reserved. The site is clean, with private access to the beach and pool. The pitches have running water and electricity. For electricity, you can borrow a cable reel free of charge from reception. The sanitary rooms are cleaned regularly and conscientiously and are well equipped. The on-site supermarket has a large selection. Good restaurant.

Very beautifully located by the sea. One star deducted for the sanitary facilities. We do not think it deserves five stars because of that. Nevertheless, we would happily return.

Super-nice campsite right by the sea, everything very clean and well maintained—and finally a site without dogs. Many more campsite operators should take note!

We spent four peaceful nights here with a great view, beautiful beach, nice people, good restaurant, and clean sanitary facilities—and all without dogs barking, what a relief. Thank you to the operators for the dog ban! Finally, hedges without the smell of urine!

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed—what a shame ☹️

Very nice, clean, and well-organized campsite. The staff are super friendly and attentive! There is a large pool area, beach access, a gym, restaurant, small supermarket, and WORKING Wi-Fi! For us, as people who normally camp off-grid, it is pure luxury. But it comes at a luxury price too: from September 14 it is off-season—€41 per night, plus €7 for a child.

Very good campsite. Beautiful pitches overlooking the ocean are available but highly sought after. The sanitary facilities are very clean, which is appreciated, and the staff are very friendly. However, very expensive for September 10: €59.72 per night for a van and two people.
