Reservation required, possibly using the touchscreen at the barrier. The camper pitches overlook a gigantic open empty grass field, but are packed tightly together. Sanitary facilities are old-fashioned and mediocre. Overall, too expensive for the quality provided. Unfortunately, Bourtange itself is not worth visiting either: it is no longer an authentic fortified town, but a reconstruction.✦Translating

Nice site with everything you need. The motorhome pitches on gravel are rather like sardine tins, though. There is less than 3 metres between you and your neighbour. Therefore only 3 stars…✦Translating

Sanitary facilities on the comfort side are outdated. Comfort places no wifi and can’t connect a hose to the water tap. We would like if the bushes and trees were better trimmed, now grow quite wild = lots of snails and flying insects. Receptionist is friendly and the castle is a short walk away. Disappointing for the price, but a good stop for those looking for a peaceful night's sleep.✦Translating

Great place, we arrived spontaneously. There are free bicycles and pedal go-karts for the children. A lovely little lake for swimming and a snack bar on site. About 10 minutes on foot to visit the fortified town.✦Translating

We arrived at the campsite without a reservation and received a very friendly welcome. We stayed for one night on this quiet, well-maintained site so that we could visit the nearby fortress. There are playgrounds, bicycles and go-karts for the children. The sanitary facilities were very well maintained.✦Translating

Nice site which is situated within a 10min walk to Fort Bourtange. Very friendly reception. Toilet block nice and clean. Washing machine and tumble dryer €5 token per appliance. Very good. We stayed on the camping field as the Motorhome hard standing wasn’t as nice. Field drains well after a big storm. Would recommend. ✦Translating

We paid €15.00 for a camper pitch and €1.75 tourist tax per person. A total of €17.50 for one night. The tourist tax is therefore paid per person, which is convenient when travelling alone. We received one free shower token per person, allowing four minutes of showering. Very friendly lady at reception. Beautiful campsite and clean toilet block.✦Translating
