Free beach parking, break-in risk

This is a brilliant city parkup. It is a short walk to streets with many shops and restaurants, but also close to a small beach. We spent Friday and Saturday night, and it was very quiet. Sunday we drove down to a larger beach for the day and came back here and still found a good spot. So three nights for us. And more quiet than some camp sites! Also very dusty!

The place is okay—sandy, very central, and quiet at night. We came several times for one or two nights and felt safe. We often left the buses alone while exploring the city. Unfortunately, there was a break-in today and several things were stolen; the diesel heater was removed, along with a canister. It is really disgusting that they also rummaged through the bed.✦Translating

WE WERE BROKEN INTO! We moved from the sandy parking lot into the old town, and during that time someone professionally broke in through our side window. DESPITE DOGS IN THE VAN! Be careful.✦Translating

Great spot where you can park a large motorhome with no issues, close to old town, great for exploring on foot. We stayed for two nights, feeling perfectly safe.

Fine during the day. Unfortunately, people who want to direct you into a space are present here, as everywhere in Portugal. Nevertheless, we felt safe leaving the van here for a city visit. I would not spend the night here; there are much nicer places in Portugal!✦Translating

Parked here for two nights with no issues at all, left the van there for a few hours during the day while exploring Lagos, some areas are not very level but there’s enough space on an evening when the car parks quieter to find a level spot.

stayed here a few times. Very suitable parking for large and small camper. I enter from the opposite side and not the carpark side so no hassle. as reviews go never judge a book by it's cover.

At first we had doubts about whether we should sleep here, but we had a wonderfully peaceful night and morning. The town is easily accessible. The police drove past and said nothing.✦Translating

This is a huge sandy car park right by the town. The tarmac section was full of cars and we just managed to get our camper round and up the ramp to the unpaved section. We found a level spot under the ramparts with help! 1¢ Walk back out, turn left and the town is just there. Went to the far end of the car park to leave and the streets were narrow. Fortunately made it down to the road by the water

Good parking for visiting the town. There are attendants who “help” you park. If possible, enter from above, because below people park however they can, and maneuvering with anything over 7 meters is difficult. Still, it is quiet and very close to the center. Just avoid it! Access with a 7.5-meter motorhome is impossible. There are also some really suspicious people walking around the lot who try to direct you. I definitely would not park my motorhome or car here, let alone spend the night!✦Translating

Basic, but two steps from the center. It can be difficult to maneuver with a large motorhome depending on how full it is. There are attendants who ask for 5 euros for parking and the night; some people manage to evade them or refuse. I stayed overnight without any problems; it was very quiet. Good 4G.✦Translating

Lagos? No thank you. Look at the listings, mostly near the beaches, on P4N for daytime parking only, and you will see identical text claiming that Lagos has a "new" law that doesn't allow "overnight staying in public areas" with a 400€ fine. They do not say if this applies only to specific areas. Either way, we did not feel welcome and will not return. Fake parking attendant in this car park too.

Ideally located, close to the entrance to the old town. I spent two very peaceful nights and felt completely safe. Surrounded by other vans and motorhomes, with a good atmosphere. Shops, including Spar, are within walking distance.✦Translating

It was incredibly busy because there is a festival in the city over the next four days. Two or three people showed us spaces and asked for 5 euros for parking. They looked like homeless people who wanted to make some quick money.✦Translating

Hello, we stood in this place for two days, somewhat higher up, and we are delighted. It is exactly what you can expect from a free-standing wild-camping spot. It is quiet and we felt safe. It is very close to the city center. Yesterday we took a boat tour, and today we walked the entire route on the hiking trail—9 km well worth it. We recommend this place.✦Translating

We just spent 3 nights at the top of the parking area. We had no problems. It's quiet, very well located near the center and seafront. Beautiful walks along the very long beach and kilometers of wooden walkways. Great.

super quiet, had no problems there at all. Police were parked there during the day. felt super safe. enter from above and you don't have to deal with the guys at the bottom parking.

Warning!! My truck was broken into through every door. The other vans around us had nothing happen to them even after staying several days, but I really don't recommend this place!

Shame on the motorhome owners. Just because we're lucky enough to have a vehicle, even if we worked hard to own it, doesn't mean we should despise or ignore someone doing a small job and directing parking. Neither a thief nor a beggar nor aggressive; some local workers appreciate it and give a small coin. SO WE GO FOR WALKS, TO THE RESTAURANT, SIGHTSEEING...

We slept there for one night. The place isn't particularly beautiful, but it is central to the city center. Restaurants and bars are about 5 minutes away and it's free. At the beginning, homeless people try to get money from you for parking—just ignore them. We were there with about 8 other vans. At night it was quiet apart from two other campers.

Very dirty parking area. We spent one night there but couldn't sleep because it was so noisy. Several drunk homeless people fought for much of the night. Vehicles came and went all night, and early in the morning we found garbage bags deliberately left at the foot of our motorhome. In short, don't spend the night here.

Great parking area for exploring the city, 10 minutes on foot from the old town. We did not stay overnight!!!

Dirt parking area (be careful in rainy weather), well located. Several access points; I came through with my 7.5 m vehicle. It was tight but manageable. One star deducted for cleanliness.

Difficult to enter and leave the parking area. Maneuvering requires great care because of the tight curves. Otherwise, the parking area is quiet and peaceful. Very close to the center, 5 minutes on foot.

Good place to go to the center or the beach. There are parking attendants at the entrance. There were more campers. We left the van here all day without problems. I wouldn't dare enter with a motorhome because it's very narrow and full of cars everywhere.
