Strada Regionale 222 Chiantigiana, 53011, Castellina in Chianti
Been here?
A paved motorhome service area and parking place, well positioned for visiting Castellina and exploring Chianti. It has electrical terminals, waste-water disposal and a toilet costing 0,50 €. The area is usually quiet, though a nearby road is busy during the day. The potable-water service has recently been out of order.

It was not in our plans, but we stopped there and loved the village. We were surprised to find the area completely empty and spent a very peaceful night. It has an electrical hookup, bins, water filling and emptying facilities, and a toilet for €0.50. There are also surveillance cameras. The price is €15 for 24 hours. A 12-hour rate would be useful. Thanks for the site!
We stayed here for three relaxing days. The site is great and quiet. Unfortunately, the fresh-water machine did not work. Great starting point for bike rides along the Chiantigiana and the Grand Tour in Chianti.
Excellent site with water and paid electricity.
Grey- and black-water emptying is available, but the drinking-water dispenser does not work; it costs 10 cents per 10 liters. We were just passing through and did not stay, but there were five campers parked. The parking area seems fine, although a road runs alongside it.
Thanks to the municipality for creating this site. On our route, we were able to use the facilities, which is great.
Parking and site for visiting the town and sleeping. Slight slope.
Convenient parking for visiting the village.
The site is beautifully located and ideal for visiting Castellina. Unfortunately, the fresh-water tap has been broken for several years now. The whole system should be renewed; then the price would be more than reasonable. Four stars for the location, one for the services.
Drinking water out of service! Only a non-potable water tap is available, for cleaning the toilet cassette.
We spent the night here. Quiet and clean site, but quite expensive for an unsecured parking area without a barrier: €15 per night in the off-season, valid for 24 hours with electricity. We emptied the waste water and toilet, very clean. Drinking water must be paid for; we did not use it because it was raining that morning and we could not attach our water filter to their hose.
this is just an overpriced parking lot. the toilet is so disgusting no one would or should ever use it and the potable water dispenser just ate my money and does not work. there's somewhere to dump black water and grey water if you need that.
Night of October 21. Very good for visiting the beautiful little village nearby. All services—emptying facilities, water and electricity. Good value for money (€15 with electricity). Quiet night. Busy road during the day. Thanks to the municipality.
The area is slightly sloped, though from the highest part it is barely noticeable. Electricity included in the price; unfortunately, we were unlucky that the two remaining outlets did not work. Facilities for emptying wastewater and toilets. Perfect for visiting a charming village.
Quiet parking area a short walk from the center. Electricity and waste-disposal drain included in the €15/24-hour price. Paid toilet. Since it is only a parking area, €15 is a little too much, and the cassette-toilet disposal area needs improvement. Castellina is very beautiful and nevertheless deserves a stop.
We thought it was great. Castellina is beautiful, especially the Botega del Borgo restaurant, which was really good. The site is a parking area and is quiet at night. Service facilities are available.
Excellent motorhome area, quiet and level, payment via EasyPark (€15 plus app fees), with electricity and water filling/emptying included. Good base for visiting the Chianti region.
A large, clean parking area close to the town. The services were fine.
Motorhome area with a payment machine. Electrical hookups available, plus a water filling/emptying area with a station for washing dishes. The only drawback is the lack of shade. Castellina in Chianti can be reached by a pleasant 10-minute walk.
Quiet, convenient and affordable area. A short walk from the charming village. Good atmosphere and recommended wine tastings. Away from the crowds of mass tourism.
You can only be pleased; everything is flawless … perhaps preferable for campers with a shower and toilet!
Good, but we did not stay. Problems with the ticket machine. We could not pay for more than 3 hours. So we visited, ate at a restaurant, and moved on further, as we did not want to pay again.
A place without shade. Be sure to get a ticket immediately. The municipal inspectors check very strictly, even early in the morning. It is best to avoid the toilet.
Spacious and clean parking area on the SR222 with special camper spaces. Fresh water, grey- and black-water disposal, and electricity are well arranged and free. Within walking distance of the lovely village; we had a delicious meal at La Bottega del Borgo! All in all, a more than excellent spot.
Very noisy because of the road next to it. Be careful when paying with the app. The city only checks whether there is a ticket visible in the windscreen. Sanitary facilities are dirty. Electricity is free. Sufficient for one night. Close to the town, nice for sightseeing. €15 for 24 hours.
Quite quiet and safe. Unfortunately, the toilet was out of order, which was an unpleasant surprise. Note that a local market takes place in the parking area on Saturdays from 6:00. It is not very noisy and there is nothing particularly special, but you can buy vegetables or a little cheese in the morning. The town itself is beautiful. In the center, near the church, there is a restaurant open from the morning hours.
Great place for one night to visit beautiful Chianti. It is best to download the EasyPark app and pay in advance. The police check frequently! The toilet was closed and fresh water was not working either. We could live with that. Electricity is free, though!
€15 for 24 hours, including electricity and water. Very close to the center. Market right next door on Saturday morning.
The area is good, but... The toilet was closed (error 11). The electricity was not working. However, the police were checking in the morning that we had paid. By the way, the ticket machine is difficult to use. We eventually managed it, but because it was so slow it took us 20 minutes to get the ticket. The app costs €2.50 more.
Paved parking, with large spaces easily accessible to large motorhomes. Grey- and black-water disposal available. Electricity and water included in the price. €1.50 per hour or €15 per 24 hours. Payment possible via EasyPark. Village very easily accessible on foot.
Very well located and quiet; there were only three motorhomes. Electricity included in the €15. The municipal police come by in the morning to check payment.
Good location for exploring Castellina in Chianti. Disgusting toilet.
Note that prices have increased: €15 per 24 hours and €1.50 per hour. We only parked there for a while. The place seems quiet and clean and is close to the small town. Convenient.
Good location and quiet at night. There was a market on Saturday and half the lot was cordoned off. Despite that, there were still enough spaces. The parking meter is a little tricky; in the end we managed to pay the €15. We went on a lovely hike. We did not use the service facilities, but everything looked good. Pubs are within walking distance. Recommended!
Close to the village, flat and quiet area. Water, disposal facilities, and electricity included with parking at €12 per 24 hours. Toilet €0.50. Lovely village. Do not hesitate to taste the Chianti and visit the Etruscan tomb, with a beautiful panorama. Very good caterer on the left when going toward the village, with delicious tiramisu. Thank you to the municipality.
Lovely, quiet location at night. It allows you to visit a very beautiful little village and buy Chianti with a controlled designation of origin. €12 per night including electricity seems attractive. Thank you to the municipality for providing this spot.
A fantastic place, with electricity, grey- and black-water disposal completely free. If you stop and park for €12, you get 24 hours. Ten minutes after parking, a very kind police officer came by and explained everything about the town and how to pay correctly. We visited the town in the evening; it is small but very characteristic. It has a wine cellar with very good local wine and a few little restaurants.
As a camper spot, absolutely fine. Electricity, water, etc.—everything is available. The pleasant little town is a few minutes’ walk away and has everything you need! Ideal for one or two nights. The road did not bother us.
Lots of traffic at night and in the early morning. Very unpleasant vibe.
