Abbey ruins, overnight sleeping prohibited

A quiet site beside the ruins of Vauclair Abbey, with forest walks, the lake and several parking areas, including two in front of the abbey and another 200 m in the woods. The guinguette usually stops around 11pm, but overnight sleeping is not permitted in the state forest. There are picnic tables and an old compost toilet behind the ruins, although no other services are reported.

Quiet night. The refreshment bar closes around 11 p.m. There are lovely walks to take. Otherwise, nothing special to report. It is a state-owned forest, so sleeping there is not permitted.
Pleasant even in winter. There are many designated parking areas. Perfect for an afternoon, with walking and cycling possible. I stopped there for a meal.
Nice spot in the car park of Vauclair Abbey. Visiting the ruins and medicinal plant garden is free. You can walk around the lake. Beware of mosquitoes. Quiet night. Picnic table available.
