1 Platensgatan, 591 35, Motala
Been here?
This public parking area beside the marina and Motormuseum overlooks the water at the entrance to Vättern in the Göta canal. Parking is free from 18h to 8h, but the spaces are short and longer motorhomes may need to use the opposite park strip or park across the bays. The area can be noisy, although it usually becomes quiet after about 22, and the public toilet may be dirty and smell strongly.

First of all: free parking for 72 hours has now been restricted to buses, so it is no longer possible. It should be clear that this is a car park, with all the obvious disadvantages. Apart from that, we spent a pleasant night. It became quiet from around 10 p.m. and stayed that way until eight o'clock, when we were gently woken by the church bells.Translating
Currently closed because of an event. They were still dismantling everything.Translating
We were here in winter. The car park was easy to reach and cleared of snow. Therefore, a good place. The spaces directly in the car park are somewhat short, so with longer vehicles either park opposite on the parking strip or across the spaces when it is quiet—as was the case for us.Translating
As others have already written, there are 3–4 free motorhome spaces opposite for 72 hours.Translating
There is also a free car park across the road for 72 hours.Translating
We spent one night there. Excellent playground right next door. Quiet surroundings at night.Translating
The view in the adjacent park is great. The only issue is that the public toilet we had to use smelled terrible and had not been cleaned.Translating
The car park is not recommended. Very severe disturbance from young people until late at night.Translating
It is only a car park, but it borders a few nice restaurants by the water and a beautiful park on the other side. The town can be reached on foot in a short time. Wonderful for one night. You have to expect some nighttime noise in a public car park, but despite the town festival we slept well.Translating
A CAR PARK directly by the harbor and park. Not suitable for large motorhomes! The place is too central and exposed for us, so we moved on.Translating
Simple parkinglot but it's free! Unfortunately really loud music from the town (nightclub) but it could sleep through it.
Great car park right in the city. We had a quiet night.Translating
Basic car park with a playground and park next door. Shops are a 5-minute walk away. Breakfast on benches at the yacht harbor, with a view of the locks. Toilets were rather old.Translating
Everything was said in the previous comments. Very good place to visit the Motor Museum. Nice park right next door. Parking fees can easily be paid by app until 6 p.m.Translating
Good overnight place next to a park. Making the payment is a bit of a thing.Translating
Quiet and beautiful place directly beside the museum, which is worth a visit. Payment by app works pretty well with a little patience because of the poor connection. We had a quiet night.Translating
Quiet, large, level car park next to a beautiful park directly on the beach promenade. The nearby motor museum is highly recommended. I stayed here for one night; from 8 a.m. you have to pay 6 kronor per hour.Translating
The pitch is close to the water and borders a park with lovely benches. An interesting vintage-car museum and some fantastic restaurants are nearby. Unfortunately, Friday night was somewhat noisy because of fireworks.Translating
Good car park for spending one night and visiting the town. It was very quiet at night.Translating
Great place for an overnight stop. Many restaurants nearby. The next day we continued from here toward Varamobaden!Translating
Good place for one night; from Friday to Saturday it was quite noisy because of teenagers. Toilet at the car park. With the ePark app, parking is free from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m.Translating
