IKEA parking, restricted hours

We stayed here from Saturday evening at 9 p.m. until Sunday at 2 p.m. Since IKEA is closed on Sundays, we could stay here without any problems. Bergen can be reached by bus route 4 in 20 minutes. The fare is NOK 51 per trip per person. The road noise did not bother us.

Thank you ikea for letting us use your carpark to overnight. We did get a letter(see picture) on the windscreen asking not to park during the day. Fair enough.

A convenient spot next to the E16 and in IKEA car park. Plenty of space and free. A few teenagers in cars driving with loud music round the car park on a Thursday night, but quiet after about 2200. Awoke to a polite notice under our windscreen - in high season it's restricted to 2000-0745, unless you are a customer. So not able to use during the day to visit Bergen. Fair enough I suppose.

Excellent free parking for one or more nights and an ideal starting point for taking the bus to Bergen, about €10 return per person. IKEA provides everything else, including toilets, supplies, and free Wi-Fi.

Excellent parking, ideal for visiting Bergen. Bus number 4 takes us to Bergen (Bryggen) in 20 minutes for NOK 52, less than €5 return per person.

We stayed here for half a day and one night with our camper, on the right side of IKEA. It was quiet, with some background traffic that was not disturbing at all. From here it is a 5-minute walk to the bus, which takes you to Bergen center in 20 minutes. The bus is not free.

We spent the night in the IKEA car park and had no problems at all. It was very peaceful and pleasant; there were no signs prohibiting parking or indicating a time limit, unlike all the other places.

This is the parking lot of a forniture shop so during the opening hours it is busy and noisy, but it is open only from Monday to Saturday and only between 10 AM and 8 PM, so it is still a peaceful place. In September only a few motorhomes were there and we felt very safe. There is a small swedish restaurant in the shop and toilets are available but except for that there weren't any facilities.

Thanks to IKEA for the parking! However, a correction to previous reviews: in high season, IKEA leaves notices explaining that its parking is needed for customers. You can stay between 9 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. for a quiet night, but daytime parking to visit Bergen is not wanted. This must be respected so that overnight stays can continue.

Thanks, IKEA! Since there is almost nowhere else in or around Bergen, this was our salvation for one night before visiting the city!

Great place to sleep if you arrive in Bergen in the evening. Due to traffic jams on the way, we arrived at 12:20 a.m. and could comfortably sleep until 9 a.m. We barely heard any road noise. For breakfast, we had some IKEA food.

Free parking at IKEA. We stayed overnight here with many other campers. Unfortunately, the road noise is clearly audible. Fine for one night. Thanks IKEA for the free opportunity to stay overnight.

The road is clearly audible. But if you urgently need somewhere to spend the night or have good insulation, you can stay here.

Attention: since September 2023, IKEA no longer offers a free bus.

We wanted to take the bus from IKEA to Bergen in the morning. A parking attendant stopped us and pointed out that only overnight stays are tolerated and that we must leave when the store opens. He was still there after closing time and handed out notices to all the campers. A good place for one night. Thanks IKEA! Road noise is audible.

Attention: When parking behind IKEA, I noticed that all the campers parked in front had sheets of paper on their windshields. I do not know whether they were fines or just warnings, because there were really a lot of them—perhaps too many.

Thanks IKEA! A free bus runs hourly to Bergen and back. Outbound trips start at 12:30 p.m., with return trips until 7 p.m. You can even spend the night behind the furniture store. Perfect! By the way, it is a beautiful city!

Perfect for spending the afternoon in Bergen. Buses leave from the parking lot every hour starting at 12:30 p.m., and return buses leave from the fish market every hour until 7 p.m.
