Camping IL LAGO

Lots of people with caravans set up seemly for longer stays. Some caravans looked like they’ve been there for years. Nice access to the lake though. Facilities were fine. Had to ask one of the long stay guests how to get out as we had to leave early and the gate was closed, no staff til 8.30 on reception. Staff were very friendly though.

A lovely stop on the way back. We went swimming in the lake in the evening. Campsite very close to the town of Bolsena. A very warm welcome and all the necessary facilities. €36 for a camper and two people. What more could you ask for!✦Translating

Nice campsite on the lakeshore with a small private beach. Several shaded pitches with lake views. Clean sanitary facilities with hot showers. The center, castle and Church of Santa Cristina are easily reached on foot. We stayed for three nights and were very pleased. The friendly receptionist was helpful and kind.✦Translating

Pros: Cool spot, quickly into town, large pitches, shaded spaces. Cons: The owner may come across as unfriendly, perhaps because she has been in the business too long. The beach and sanitary facilities are closed at certain times and have neither paper nor toilet seats. Complicated waste disposal with restricted times; showers are small. Small campsite in the greenery directly by the lake. A manager who does not greet her guests—never experienced that in 22 years of camping. Sanitary facilities inadequate for us: three squat toilets and one regular toilet without a seat. The facilities are closed between 2 and 3:30 p.m., and you cannot get in. Waste can only be disposed of at two specific times. And many more ‘prohibitions’. This campsite is not for us.✦Translating

Small campsite directly on the lake and only a few minutes’ walk from the center of Bolsena. Pitches are somewhat narrow and the facilities are old, but well maintained and always clean. A little expensive, but average for Lake Bolsena.✦Translating

We stayed here for two nights in mid-September. The site has its own small sandy beach. All pitches are under trees. The sanitary facilities are clean but basic. Waste can only be disposed of at two specific times. Note that the site is closed from 10:30 p.m. At night it was sometimes very noisy because of moped riders, especially from Saturday to Sunday. In the middle of town, with the center within walking distance. The site is relatively expensive, with many restricted opening times for waste disposal and showers. The waste area was not open at the stated times, and the showers were locked too early. Still a nice place, and its proximity to town is unbeatable. You should definitely visit Bolsena.✦Translating

The site is small and very cozy. We stayed only one night because I cannot stand squat toilets, no matter how clean they are. The central location is great, dogs are welcome, and you can even barbecue on site.✦Translating
