This large free car park beside the Meuse is about 1 km from Charleville-Mézières centre and has no services. It is accessible to vehicles of all sizes, illuminated at night, and can be very quiet. Public-works equipment has been nearby, while scooters and other questionable activity have also been reported.

Parking accessible to vehicles of all sizes. Fine for a lunch break, but I would not leave my motorhome here overnight. Young people on scooters frequent the area, and a suspicious individual approached a damaged car. I left.
Arrived on a Saturday evening with public-works machinery nearby. I parked between two of them; the night was very quiet, and the next day I walked around Charleville-Mézières. The parking area is lit at night, and there are no trains on Sunday morning. It would be worth checking during the week when work is underway.
I confirm: extremely quiet parking area, no problems spending the night here. I recommend it.
Spent one night in a large, illuminated parking area. We were the only van, facing the Meuse. No problems, except for the TER trains about 100 metres away; the first passes around 5:55 a.m.
Pleasant parking area. We spent two quiet nights near the greenway and Ducale Square. Lots of space. The only drawback is that there is no shade, especially now that the heat is extreme—33°C.

We spent three good nights. No noise. At the foot of the greenway, 500 metres from the square and the station. Take the greenway to Givet and return by train—it is very beautiful.

Hello, we have just spent a quiet night in this parking area. We were alone. Yesterday we visited the city and returned via the greenway from Mézières.
Very good: quiet, close to the centre, spacious and accessible even to the largest vehicles. I spent one trouble-free night here. It is true that access to the parking area is a little gloomy, especially at night, because of the abandoned former Deville factory. During the day, however, the parking area offers a lovely view of the Meuse.
Really quiet and seemingly safe large parking area on the outskirts of town. The city centre is only a 10-minute walk away. There are also nice hiking routes from here.
